I have spawns for up to 16, but its primarily built for 4v4. It's still a lot of fun with more, though. I've played with 6v6 and had a blast.
Change of plans - I can actually make it. Sign me up! I'd like to test my newest map, "Wendigo," with CTF (no BR starts though). It should work fine for 8+ people, though it'll get a little crazy because it's designed for 4v4 to be the sweet spot. The version number will probably be between 0.1 and 0.3 depending on how much testing I can squeeze into the next couple days, but I promise I know what I'm doing and the map will be solid. It's already starting to come together: As a side note, I'm always happy to play Strongholds on Nowhere if you're looking for another map to slot in. It's relatively finalized now, so it should play super smoothly. Thanks to the last couple test nights, I've been able to get it working to the point that I'm happy with it.
Map: Frostbite 0.6 Map type: 8v8 CTF Gamer tag: Rabid Hogs This is a big team map I made for CTF, and it hasn't been (other than just me walking around) tested yet. Idk if BR starts (like btb) or pistol starts would be best Picture: http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Rabid Hogs/screenshot/3826006
My GT is IK Tat3rs. The map is Waterworx, a remake of a classic from Halo 2. It should play 8v8 ctf and strongholds very well. Though the cinematic doesn't work for slayer for some reason. It should be a lot of fun to play on. I've added a lot to the latest version. Such as a Mantis in bottom mid, rail gun, saw, additional cover and lots more. I've tested the map with 6v6 but really hoping I can make the list so we can test it 8v8.
Map: Oasis Map type: 4v4 Arena Gamertag: Sirfriswad The map is a symmetrical arena map, inspired by Sandtrap. Compatible with Slayer, CTF, and Strongholds. It's meant to be a 4v4, but spawns are set up so 16 people can play on it.
Added to the playlist. I love bigteam maps - Added! I remember seeing a few videos on this gametype!! HYPE TRAIN!!! Chances of us having exactly 8 are pretty slim. Usually people are watching the stream for someone to quit, then joining when they see the opportunity. Will this map work with more than 8 players? Its good to know if you'd still want people to see it if its not under the conditions it was designed for. That looks sweet!! Im pumped to play on this! More big team!! Love it! WATERWORKS? This event is going to be awesome. Supports up to 16!! Thats pretty good!
Map = Cedar Plaza v.03 Gt = REX JOURNEY Players = 8v8 Gametype = Slayer Notes: the map may have some issues with spawns and weapons as it has yet too be tested with a full lobby, just so you know. Edit: Got to testing the map, spawns work great however they are dynamic but you will spawn near your allies
There are enough spawns to work for 16 players, however the map is a smaller than normal Breakout map so 16 would be pretty crazy. It is cool if you pass on it for the stream, thanks for letting me know! If get around to some of my BTB map ideas I'll make sure to send them your way.
Man, I hate to be that guy but apparently my girlfriend is having a "surprise" birthday party for me tomorrow night. Won't be able to make it this week unfortunately. :/ If you can still toss Wendigo into the rotation, that would be awesome - I'll watch the **** out of the VOD!
I'm in! Beyond has received large updates, and needs more playtesting. Also, my new map, if i finish the blockout in time... GT: Reidrum
Well now that I know for certain that I won't be at work today because of this blizzard, I'll join in. I don't have anything to test unless you want to test Deluge again. I fixed the frame rate issues and I've been wanting to test two different strongholds setups on the map. But obviously any new maps take priority. How does joining work? I had to wait for someone in the party to send me an invite last time because it wouldn't let me join on my own. Was that intentional?
Added it to the playlist Yes and no. To my knowledge 343 has yet to fix the 16 player limit on custom lobbies. So more than 16 can join, but the game cannot be started if the lobby has more than 16 players. So sometimes when we max the party limit we have to set it to invite only otherwise we wouldn't be able to even start a game. Usually we're pretty full. I believe most people who don't get in the lobby watch the stream and look for someone to quit to know when a spot becomes available. You're on my list and i'll spam invites almost right at 8pm EST.. so be ready for that invite.
Could you test my map Igneous: http://www.forgehub.com/maps/igneous.1390/ Works for anywhere between 2 - 16 palyers sweet spot around 8ish. Slayer would be the best game type I believe or strongholds
If anyone gets a chance to test my maps, please do - Domain and Archive! Thanks! Just good ole' fashioned Slayer please folks for Archive. Domain....try CTF
So if we do get a chance to play Deluge, I've got two versions. The normal map has strongholds in the center tower, Carbine (under sword tree/rock), and in between the shotgun spawns. The other version, Deluge S2 has strongholds in the center tower and one in each base. If we can, I'd like to see how the two setups differ and which one people like better. But again, only as long as we've gotten to everyone else's maps first.
I believe my map wasn't played, but if I'm incorrect, could someone tell me the time of its appearance in the past broadcasts video. It's "Frostbite 0.6"
Thank you guys so much for playing Checkpoint 19. I watched the stream video and I've listened to all your feedback. As I suspected spawns are an issue. There is a huge preference for a particular area and that leads to spawn killing. I was surprised to find out you can get out of the map though, I thought I had it locked down pretty well, but I hadn't considered running all the way out of the soft kill, it's the largest size available. I will place some hard kills on the bottom and sides of the map. I was also disappointed to see that the intro cameras didn't play, which worked in the preview for the game mode. I'm really glad to hear a lot of positive comments about the map, and I'll be making a forgehub post for the map soon after I fix these issues. I hope it can continue to be tested and improved.
