Those are amazing requests, I think. Make sure to throw in all the Tangram shapes so I can see what this community does with those. The Modular Cave Pieces remind me of the classic top-view adventure games. Wouldn't mind taking down some Octoroks as a Spartan! I need to get up to speed with the new Forge just to see what sorts of genre-spanning the Forgers are up to. Request! Can we have Octorok armor?
I second these items: Undo/Redo, even if it only has a few levels. Rotation working properly. Timer added to every Condition (post-timer) or Action (pre-timer) if sensible?. I'm guessing adding it to the Actions would be better, but I can't wrap my head around it ATM. Scoring or other game mechanics. AI for some fun. New items, I think: Rag doll bodies! Especially for horror games. Might need to send everyone a Mature rating "M" sticker for their game box if you do. Initially Spawned Yes/No object property. Or a Spawn Time property that can be set from -1 to 180 or so. Forge Edit vs Test modes. Something that keeps the objects right at the last place we intentionally set them. Landmine explosives like from 3 (was it?). Seems like the easiest way to add some location detection/detonation back. Globally saved scripts that can be added/removed from objects. A Rotation Origin/Axis object to place wherever we need it, if that's feasible. A help file or more detailed instructions. Or easy-to-find link if such a treasure trove of knowledge exists? Are there any Gravity Hammers? Would like something I could swing like a bat. Funny(?) Glad to hear about saving components in separate areas! Can you make the place we store and import from be the Sketchup warehouse? Teabag animations. Even better: custom teabag animations that make people more appreciative of the Kinect. Landing animations. Ground pound head first or butt first, like we can tell the difference, maggot! Custom sound files. Is there a higher rating than "M"? Dungeon Master Mode. You get a Hunter! And you get a Hunter! Everyone gets a Hunter! Dropped on them cuz I feel like it. Super jumps. Wait, can we fake those now?
Yes, we can now 'UPLOAD A FILE' for any forum post. This is a great tool if you do not want to create a 3rd party image hosting account like photobucket, etc. This was a part of the new update to ForgeHub.
I think it would be nice to be able to change the grid texture on the breakout pieces to any color we want.
ForgeHub conducted a twitter poll yesterday, Jan 14, asking the community what their preference was regarding these two pallet styles. While I personally would love to use a forerunner piece set, I objectively agree that a covenant pallet is needed most as its much harder to emulate with the current tools available.
I've always thought it would be really cool if primitive blocks would work sort of like volumes, where the dimensions aren't preset, but rather determined by the user by changing the width, length, and height in the object settings. Not only does that allow for more customization, but the blocks could be procedurally generated or something like that, meaning that they don't have to make models for every single different set of dimensions.
A simple option in the object settings to delay the spawn of that object. ("Place on round start: No/Yes")
This sure as hell better be legit! As for features: More sounds and let us edit them in a similar fashion to lighting. - edit Volume, range, pitch, speed. - add Grunt Birthday or some sort of cheering. - add ambient crowd - add object hitting target type sounds (dings/gongs ect) The ability to edit FX in a similar way to lighting - Adjust colors (primary, secondary, tertiary) - secondary effect on/off (ie disable smoke on flames) - Sound on/off The ability to edit aspects of specialty objects - Movement on/off - lighting on/off - sound on/off - explosion on/off For example disable sound/lighting and explosion to create an empty explosive canisters, or a bomb arm disarm effect. Streamline object building by adding the ability to select an existing object and then open the object selection pallet to that object regardless of what was selected before it. Ie. I'm sitting in front of a pillar I created an hour ago and I now need a pillar of a slightly different size so I grab the object, open the pallet (which opens to that exact object) and I look for the similar object I want to now spawn. As mentioned previously, many, many times - object scaling. Compress items in the pallet list that don't need to be seen as multiple objects. Ie, Steam/Smoke - Make them into single objects with modifiers we can adjust. Do we really need a smoke up, smoke down, smoke big, smoke small. It makes the whole process slower and it just adds to the list of objects. (or was that the point? 1700+ modifiers was it. I would rather have 100 base objects that can become over 10,000 things) Object decorations, Much like @WARHOLIC post above, give us object decorations that can be snapped over top of existing objects. Slender electrical panels, pipe panels, tech panels, of varying sizes to be thinly snapped onto objects. If possible make them capable of being stacked in interesting ways to create a more visually complex structure. Simple objects designed for visual flare that we can snap together in fancy glowy ways. The kinds of things you would expect to see behind glass in the floors and walls of the Covenant, Forerunners, ect.
Add the possibilityto change the spare clips on the Weapon Platform! Its a small request, i know but if i want to put some power weapons on my map ON A STATIC TIMER, maybe i want to put 2 snipers on my map, instead of one, so i have 2 bad options: I can put two weapon platforms, i have the static timer respawn that i want but in my map there will be 2 snipers with 12 shots each, so 24 shots every 2 or 3 minutes, that sucks for a 2v2 or even 1v1 map, and as for h5 plays, even in 4v4 is too op! Or i could place 2 normal sniper and decrease the spare clips, but: I don't have tha weapon platforms that i like and and don't have the static timer that i want, because i can put the weapons to tier 1 spawn, or tier 2, not to tier 3 (that is exclusive to weapon platform) Maybe someone can help me with some scripting or something similar, but i really want this little feature! Thank you!
I feel ya. I want to put 2 of these on my map but without the ability to adjust the clips the way we can with other weapons, I just don't see how I will be able to. I feel like this is something that someone accidentally forgot rather than intentionally omitted. Perhaps we will see this corrected in the update.
I don't know if anyone agrees, but everyone atleast once has blocked off a spawn point or forgot they deleted them then entered a kill zone and are now unable to edit the map. I don't know if this has been mentioned but maybe it would be a good thing to not require a spawn point to be in Forge/Edit mode.
@SepticonWarrior I guess you could spawn floating in the air somewhere on the map but who's to say it wouldn't spawn you within the walls of your own map or a in a killzone or something. I think it's probably better to have people learn the hard the first time, and let them go from there. It's a fair amount of programming just to compensate for a begginers lack of foresight.
If it hasn't been said already, sounf FX should have range and volume adjustments. unless they do and I'm stupid
NAME LOCATIONS Currently, naming locations on our map is an extremely tedious task as none of it is in alphabetical order and requires users to constantly scroll through seemingly endless options without providing any customization. Users should be able to select each word individually with a total of 1 word minimum or 2 words maximum. Below is a concept to incorporate this for the user interface. This will eliminate a lot of repetition and unnecessary overlap while provide more ways for users to customize the locations on their maps. Having repeating options for 'BLUE' and 'RED': Tower, Bend, Hut, Street, etc. is excessive. I think 'Oscar's House', 'Bat Ledge' and 'Flank Steak' are funny but I think we need a more practical system instead. If the words are recorded separately and then played together there are only 180 sound bites needed for this. If the words need to be spoken and recorded together for better fluidity and realism then it will require an actor to say 7,590 phrases. Totally doable
