Forerunner pallette is about angles and lines. We can do most of that already, but it'd be nice to have the 3 main textures - rectangles (like on the breakout pieces), triangles and the OG texture from Combat Evolved. If they add more angular pieces like wedges and more stuff with trims, we'll be able to better represent the style, whether you're going for Bungie's or 343's. All Covenant needs is a hexagon texture and more organic shapes, which we have a lot of now but could use more. And that definitely includes their scenery objects. Seriously, why have we gone 3 games now without any Covenant props?
I have a dream every night about putting a covenant crate on a map. Then I wake up and realize 343 doesn't know what that is.
Dude I don't know why but Covenant Crates make me smile. There's just something about seeing them on a map that I love. I think it's because they make it feel like a Campaign space, and bringing Campaign spaces into Multiplayer is basically my entire Forging style. We definitely need more Campaign assets.
It's still in blockout, but here's a map I've been trying to figure out that was originally inspired by Dungeons from Destiny. It's taken on a life of its own now, however.
I prefer textures more than pallettes. Anyway, I've almost finished my map, the launch trailer (and flythrough) is ready! Tomorrow I'll put the map in my file share.
WIP most of the middle structures are getting close to completion. I am still playing around with the design and layout of the bases. Still thinking of a name for it.
Easy solution for any projects you start between now and whenever they fix that... Save a blank canvas on you main GT. Download it to your alt GT and then work off of that.
More like what happens if Hulk sat on Iron Man Iron Hide Cast Iron Iron Bend Warhammer Iron Maiden Starkship Iron Time Hammond TIme Nailbed Pipetown Iron Shifty Ironing Board The tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet and how they were never meant to be Or that name you've already given it is cool too
so this is cool. have to pick apart the design of a painting. everyone is choosing da vinci or last supper ****, but my professor let me use this one. this should be fun
I just snagged a bunch of ODST and Halo Reach Concept Art from google (I like how those two games approached UNSC civilian themed environments) and this image was in that mix. Good stuff.
If anyone's interested, I have a ton of concept art saved that I could share (I think I'm over 2,000 pieces at this point). I sort of collect it, been saving any I come across for the past few years. Some of it is really good for map inspiration, already planning a remake of Wreckage based on some of the early art for the map depicting it taking place in the wreckage of Long Night of Solace on Reach. Halo 4 also has a ton of cut maps from the DLC which might be great inspiration. The Sentinel Factory map has particularly detailed art, enough to where it might even be possible to remake it (I tried in the MCC, but I couldn't quite figure out the layout).
Pretty sure this is the most recent version I have uploaded. Should just be missing all of the Halo 5 art, too lazy to update it right now.
What GOAT said. You should definitely make a thread or gallery or something. I love looking at Concept Art... environment in this case, but Character Concept Art as well. It's super inspirational and it feeds my soul. Doit Just DO IT!!! EDIT: Mauwhahahahahahahah
Right? Concept art is the best, I just browse through my little collection all the time because I love it all. If you like character concepts there's plenty there, link's in the post above yours in case you didn't see it. I'll definitely make a thread at some point, I'll probably put together a gallery of the more relevant/my favorite art pieces when I do. Also, dibs on Sentinel Factory. I've always loved that map just based on the concept art, I just need to figure out how the middle of the map is laid out (they have detailed art of either end, which also happen to have been incorporated into Spartan Ops).
