xXBarthXx submitted a new map: Turbine - A remake of Zanzibar/Last Resort from Halo 2/3. 4-12 players. Supports all gametypes. xXBarthXx Read more about this map...
Thanks! Glad you like it. And thanks for suggesting to use respawn zones to scale properly from my Launch Pad post. That really helped out with this map
Not with the bugs that are currently in forge I've had multiple forgers try to help me, but have had no luck. I almost had the drop bridge working too, but then it suddenly went off coordinates and I didn't even change anything on it, so I just gave up on that for now. Hopefully we get a scripting patch soon.
Just so you know, there's another map named turbine. I was going to show my friend your map when he loaded the other instead. It's a guardian remake.
The one thing I noticed that may need to be changed is the circular structure in front of the sea wall may need to be moved forward.
Oh ok gotcha. I thought in Zanzibar it was in that location, but maybe I'm wrong. But if not, I kind of don't mind it there since it's a remake but with a few of my ideas implemented. Do you recommend it be moved or do you think it would be ok if it stayed?
I think that if you're going to have that piece positioned like it is instead of its Halo 3 counterpart, it should be shaped more like it was in Halo 2.

Create a block to the center of the turbine, and make it turn after grouping it as the parent of the turbine. Just create a script to make it turn 180° in 10 seconds, approximately, and repeat it each 10 seconds to create a loop. You'll add the only thing you miss to the map. (no sure if everything I said is correct, but I think you could understand the idea, it's not mentioned that you made this change in update and the video don't show it moves)
Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already tried that and every other idea to make this work. If I have a piece in the center and group the wheel and script it to rotate, it will not work. The scripting only effects the parent object when the parent object is #1, aka whatever #1 I'd when you group it will be the object that rotates, no matter what. Even if I make the center piece parent object #1 it does not work. I've tried selecting it first, last, in the middle, and it is never #1 when I group the whole thing. It is a really annoying bug in forge that I have no idea how to fix. I tweeted it to Tom French a while ago and he said he would get the forge team to look at it, but still no luck
Yep... Argh... I don't know... I have no problem with that, maybe I'll download the map and try it tomorrow
