I cant comment on gameplay without playing it, but I think you should work to bring out the aesthetic more. it looks nice as is, but I think you could do more to bring it out. I like the idea of the arabic theme.
Goldleaf draws its inspiration from quake maps, which do a very good job of creating a theme without interfering with gameplay. With that being said, there is a lot of detail that you can't see in the screenshots as I wanted to represent the layout over aesthetics. I urge you to walk around and let me know if you still have any concerns.
I absolutely understand that, I really hate it when people praise the aesthetics when it kills gameplay. When I say bring out the theme more, I would mean without interfering with the gameplay.
I had a bit of a run around in the map. It seems a little small for 2v2, but I am quite bad at judging this sort of thing. VERY cleanly forged, with a consistent, beautiful theme. My only other complaint is that perhaps the dome room is a bit too bright. It seems odd that the covered room with no visible light sources is brighter than the outside with fire pits. Other than that, looks solid.
While I do like the layout, I would like to be credited for the Color scheme and dome aesthetic (which was ripped straight from one of my prototypes I was working on without asking). I am not pleased that u didn't decide to tell me ahead of time and that u didn't credit me in your post.
All good just consult me next time before u do post something with an idea of mine, I won't be salty about it
Nah it's not too small. I had fun playing it & it just had real fast gameplay which made me feel all sweaty even though I am not very good. I didn't know it was complete until I saw it was already featured, since we just played an incomplete version on Saturday so it caught me off guard. Looks sweet though & the gameplay was fun so good map. It looks like you addressed the main concern I had, which was making the seperate rooms more different to better help recognize where you are off spawn & such.
Congratulations on the feature. While this isn't my personal cup of tea design wise, there's no denying this is a solid map that was beautifully done. Great job.
Sorry for the noobish question, but i havent been here at Forgehub since around 2010. How do i download this map? I click the download link and it just brings me back to the main forgehub page.
Unfortunately, there isn't online filesharing for Halo 5. You'll have to add the person to your friends list, find them on the friends tab in Halo 5, and then locate the map in either their 'Bookmarks' or 'Files'.
Add xandrith as a friend on XBL (I believe GT is xXandrith), then in Halo 5 go to him in your friends list, and select 'Map Variants'. You can bookmark the map from there by clicking left thumbstick I think.
