I love the original map so i can't wait to test this out. I'll let you know what i think tonight. Ps: my map is getting close to 100 light map. Is 150 acceptable?
150% will still look good. Anything above that and objects start to lose their textures to compensate. If you load my map, you'll see.
This looks really well forged man! Can't wait to try it out! So far I have recreated Ice Fields and Danger Canyon from Halo CE as well, and both go well above 200% lightmap. It's not really the end of the world though. If you decide to turn light bake off for certain objects to save lightmap space, make sure it still looks good. Often times it looks better if you don't sacrifice for the overall lightmap.
This map is amazing! The light issue doesn't bother me at all. The framerate is very solid. I like your lift to the top of the map but it might be over powered, not sure yet. Well done.
Thank you! I tried to replicate as much as possible from the Original. I will optimize it over time, and with feedback, will decide if I should keep the 4 Lifts. The middle portion of the map also serves as a good Tower of Power/1v1;2v2 map, so I'll be releasing something to do with that when I finish it. If you want to test it early, it is ToP (b being the latest version as of this writing). I'll be remaking Gemini and Timberland as well, so I'm sure I'll have a few questions about terrain forging (My rocks are bad, lol).
I look forward to seeing any remake by you i think you should keep 2 versions, with and without the lifts.
Anything you can add aesthetically to make it look like you're in the middle of an asteroid field/belt? Perhaps a rogue asteroid floating nearby in the top layers of the map?
YES. I was hoping someone would remake Gephyrophobia! It's such a unique and interesting map. Anyways, I hope I'll get the chance to playtest it soon and will for sure rate it when I do!
