Don't acess some mods on my file share and decide!

I know mods are a touchy subject but why?

they are leaked all over the web and thousands of people download them.

I feel that with mods we can bring halo to its full potential.

Well i would just like to see your thoughts.

As some people may get angry at me posting this i just say WHY!!!

All it is a map for fun!

i also ask myself that. its like, mods are fun and cool. but then again i kinda see their point of trying to keep it the way it is. original and stuff, so it sorta makes sense.

I think maby if bungie made more forging tools such as:

    Day and night lenses
    Rocks water ect.
    Bots that could fight

Mods are somthing that can quickly get out of control, THATS why bungie doesn't allow them, nto because they care if the people that wouldnt use them to harm MM have them, but to perevent the people who would rip up MM from getting them

If your modding offline, then bungie wouldn't know. But the biggest problem in halo 2 was Standbyers, Mod Jumpers (superjumping without even glitching) and other things. In halo 3 I played a team that had infinite bubble shields, no joke. Like seven sheilds on the top part of Guardian. But I've played modded PC games that function perfectly online. If everybody is equal (like as in not skill but everything else, jumping, speed, etc.) then i'd say its fine.

Like if everbody had the sniper rifle that shot shotgun rockets (halo 2 youtube mod i saw) then it would be an amazing battle haha.

I think if it is solely for amusement in custom games/forge then they are fine, but if they are used to hurt someones feelings, to cheat in matchmaking, etc. then the person that made them should be ashamed and blacklisted/banned for a certain amount of time.

1: the team didn't have infinite bubble shields, I've seen the vid and bungie adressed the issue, stating that it was b/c of lag/host connection, NOT modding

2: all that happens when you see a shotty shooting rocks is the player replaced the gunmodel for the rocket with the gunmodel for the shotgun, its really easy to do.

Offline modding can be good, but if "safe" online modding is allowed..
You give them an inch, they take a mile.

You want a repeat of Halo 2 modding?

If nobody uses them in matchmaking and they're just for fun and experimentation, why not? It's not like they'll affect people's ranks or anything...

Mods were fun in Halo 2. However, the ease of soft modding lead to many cheaters using cheating mods, which greatly deprecated the modding reputation. Online modding in customs might be fun, but matchmaking is a big no-no.

Well I am an experienced modder from halo 2.I made many mods using dot halo and some other prgrams I forgot. But first off modding is AGAINST MICROSOFTS TERMS OF USE.Micorosoft sates any modifications or hacking to your xbox 360 is ILLEGAL.So it's not bungie but microsoft because you need to open your 360 and such things that aren't supposed to happen. Therefore modding will always be banned and discriminated by nugie unless microsoft changes this rule.

If Bungie allowed mods, it would turn in to Counter-Strike, which is famous for people hacking, they even have groups of hackers that want to ruin the fun for everybody: Goroncity, myg0t, JAPS, ect
