OMG, I got so excited seeing this map remade... downloading!! It looks really good! XD This map was never my favorite but I always loved the look of it. Will give feedback soon! EDIT: This map is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for remaking it. I have 3 concerns though. The framerate in the middle seems a bit lower than usual but not by much. The sword is a physical object so you can't walk through it. The hydra might be a bit overpowered considering how open the map is. I expect this map to be featured.. very well done.
Awesome, thanks! I know the frame rate dips in the tower a little bit, but I wasn't really sure how to fix it and I thought it was tolerable. I'm curious to see if it's noticeable during the heat of gameplay. I'm pretty sure I lowered the ammo count for the Hydra to help balance it, but I might not have, I'll have to check. As for the sword being a solid object, I'm not sure if there's anything I can do that. But I did make sure you can step around it and still be able to make the jump to center tower. Thanks for the feedback!
I think if you make the Sword a phased object it might work, not sure. The only way to adjust framerate is to lessen objects and lights.. but I almost don't want you to do that considering how awesome it looks.. I got an idea for a remixed version of the map. The original map had an easter egg outside of it. It would be awesome to have the top level playable. Also I always thought it would be interesting if the bases opened up into hallways that surrounded the entire map connecting to each other. Just a few ideas ^_^
I actually had the idea really early on to try to make the bases have two hallways that cover about 1/4th of their side of the oval lol. I could try making a remixed version with that in mind, but I'd have to ditch a ton of the aesthetic detail to do it. I only have like 10 objects left lol. I'm hoping to test this map on Saturday in the Forge Customs event, so if people are telling me that the frame rate is an issue I'll see what I can do about it.
You cannot walk through phased objects, that's not how that works. There is no way to walk through the sword, just pick it up
Really? What did it do? I've loaded it on FFA, CTF, and Strongholds by myself for testing and it worked just fine.
Looks absolutely amazing. Almost looks as if these pictures are from Halo 2 with enhanced graphics. I will definitely be downloading this. Well done
Don't know why I keep hearing that. I've played on it several times and it's always loaded up. I wish it would happen to me so I can see what the problem is, but all I can say is try it again? I honestly have no idea if it's the problem with the map or the game, seeing as I can't replicate the problem, it's hard to diagnose it.
I have identified the cause of the slight frame rate drop and will be working to fix that over the next couple days.
Me and my friend AoM UnknownV2 found a way to get out of your map. One way was by double jumping and the other was nade jumping. We had a blast exploring that's for sure XD It's right above each base. An invisible blocker can fix the issue.
Darn, I thought I tested that thoroughly enough, apparently not lol. Thanks for letting me know, that's an easy fix
MAP UPDATE: Frame rate issue should be fixed, and I have swapped out Blue Shotgun for a Scattershot with increased ammo count, in an attempt to balance that with the fact that Red side is slightly closer to the Energy sword.
I've deleted and readded the map, tried to do multiple game types, ffa, team slayer, etc. I still get stuck at the static camera. I was excited to have this map for my custom game night. I've even looked in forge, tried to change a few things, no change. I'll keep trying!
UPDATE 2: Frame rate is 100% fixed, for real this time. Some lighting bugs fixed too, and updated colors to look a little less cartoony.
