Don't change it to Derezzed, @Bleuprint will be very sad if he ever comes back. --- Double Post Merged, Dec 31, 2015 --- Try looking at maps you don't like for inspiration maybe? I find that goes a long way in breaking out of your comfort zone. Anyone up for another customs lobby tonight? The one last night was fun, and we totally forgot about @Zombievillain 's map (sorry dude!).
We played 2v2 on zombie's map last night for one game, @Res and I were on the same team tho so the team's weren't balanced cos I clean house like 10 times out of 10. I never really gave my feedback @Zombievillan and I don't think the one game of slayer we played did the map justice so hopefully we can do another test sess soon. However I definitely remember getting killed on a couple occassions due to stopping and trying to figure out how you made some of them dank ass structures On that note, I'm digging people's attempts at forerunner ITT
already know and in the process of working on shattered dreams have come up with a couple different solutions besides the one I have on the map already. I just didn't like that solution anywhere else. I wouldn't mind hearing it though.
you'd have to mess around with it for sure. i'd avoid green though just so you don't end up with an RGB funhouse map. think you kinda dug yourself in a corner by having blue as the center piece. I'm actually having the same problem on Genesis. The campaign mission has blue everywhere but if I do that i have to use terrain somehow to differentiate the sides. Dunno what i'm doing either.
Try cyan to break up the blue if not do orange since in halo4 the forerunner pieces were orange aswell as blue idk see how it looks with those colors
For those of y'all having trouble with color selections, I recommend downloading a color wheel app to help. It's great seeing what contrasts and compliments various colours. It'd be cool if some one could make a colour wheel visual aid tool that only shows the options available in forge.
I too thought about something like this. I was also thinking of some kind of search where you type in, for example, "rail" and the search would bring up the location in the forge menus of where all objects with "rail" anywhere in the name or description to save the time of searching through the many categories and 1600+ objects. An app or website that does this would be nice, especially for new or returning forgers. Unfortunately I'm no app designer or webmaster.
Adobe Kuler is the main colour tool I use, an app comprised of just the forge colours would be awesome.
@SecretSchnitzel , don't worry bro, as @Rifte said we did play a quick 2v2 on my map. It's probably better because I don't think it would have held up for 4v4. It played pretty good given the fact that @Res just crapped all over us & rifte just got to walk around since she did all the work I had fun for sure & I got to see a couple of spawns that needed to be re-oriented. What's funny is I haven't placed a single respawn zone yet my spawns have worked pretty good in both tests. Thanks for the help guys & the compliments.
Yekkou's map is probably the most creative map I've ever seen in Forge. Could be an amazing infection map, but i'm not sure about playing it competitively because you have a million lifts on it. Hard to know who's going where with a bunch of lifts.
Hey everyone, long time forger, first time poster. I love this website. Here's a little snap from yesterday, which has been changed...of course. http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/SmartAlexIV/screenshot/3776703
I'd say try to make both sides look different using geometry instead of just colors if you ask me. Color coding can help to make it easier to orientate yourself, but I feel like have clear landmarks and other visual cues is much more elegant than just painting everything bright red and blue.
Landmarks and slight geometric cues are a given, but still need to figure out the color scheme. Like how all the lights on Citadel are blue but only one side is lit by the sun.
I'm having this really annoying problem on my map. There are two towers -- one in front of each base -- where explosives are not registering damage on the player. You can shoot the rocket launcher straight at the blocks and you can throw grenades right under your feet. They'll explode and do nothing but block your vision for a second. Every so often they'll damage me. I've tried deleting almost all of the towers one piece at a time, and nothing changes. I've tried replacing the floor with different objects at both the same and new heights and the new objects will not fix it. It's not just in forge either, and its not just me. I've had someone else try it and I have tried killing someone else, same results. This is happening in both the original tower and the duplicated. It also happens all the way back to one of my first backups of the map. That was before I raised and rotated the whole thing. Taking that into account and knowing that even newly spawned objects don't fix it leads me to believe its one of the nearby objects causing it. Are there any known objects that cause this? Any suggestions on what I should try next? If anyone would like to take a crack at solving it, I'd appreciate it. You could download any version of the map with the towers or the most recent one. It's the floor at the DMR spawns. EDIT: Apologies if this is the wrong spot to ask for help. I didn't think it'd be suited for the bug thread because I have no idea what is causing it.
^ Anything forge-related is welcome in this thread. Ask away! fair enough, i guess i can let the trend take its course Happy new year guys!
