I was goofing around with making hindges for the game. You can also make a drawbridge using this method. And I made a rope bridge as well (see video) I make the door with pipes and weld them together and have them use normal physic instead of fixed/phased. And the hindge set to phased. Also weight does take a factor in doing this. I wished there was a way to change the weight of the object. Only problem is when you save the game, forge will then automatically put any normal physic setting objects and group them all together also applying fixed settings to all of them. I'm pretty sure that's a bug I would guess and hopefully will be fixed. Hopefully this will benefit the forge community. And if you have any questions let me know. Also please give me credit if used. I noticed you used a warthog to open a gate. Was a Spartans strength not enough? does a larger object require more force to move than a smaller one? Very smart. Im seeing a lot of possibilities
I was in the same party with Black Picture. Yes, it depends how big and heavy the object is going to depend on how much force needs to go into it to move. We where able to use the spartan charge to move stuff pretty well too. I was figuring out that large windows work well with good movement with less force.
After seeing that demo I'm imagining a map with a big central turnstile like that, which you can move during the game (whether via spartan charges, switches, or otherwise) to change the routes available for people. Very cool stuff!
Cool stuff man! You should probably submit this issue to the bug report thread. Hopefully that way it will get fixed!
