Not hating it is just when I look at this thread I feel like I am losing weight instead of gaining weight.

I'm a pescetarian, which means the only meat I eat comes from fish, mollusks, and crustaceans. Other than that I eat whole grains, vegetables, dairy, and soy products, and extra virgin olive oil is my Lord and savior. Amen.

Run every day. Nike+ is a highly motivating platform. Join your running team if you're still in high school or perhaps even college. As a result, counting calories and dealing with all of these new theories about health largely drops out of your main list of concerns.

So I got hella outashape while wrapping up my graduate degree and subsequent period of unemployment and low motivation.... Starting to get back into the swing of things with a 3 times a week split. Chest - Back - Shoulders. I'd do legs, but my gimp leg really limits me in that regard and my legs bulk up way too quick when I train them, which kinda sucks in this era of skinny jeans and ****.

I try to eat a large bowl of cereal just about every night. It almost never contains less than 2 types of cereal. I like to mix honey flavored cereal with cinnamon flavored cereal the most but I can mix just about any kind with frosted mini wheats. Especially when its the bottom of the box and all the ground up sugary goodness comes out all over the bowl. Cornerstone of a happy diet.

Yeah same here - my legs are naturally big so I the only leg work I do are squats every so often. Plus legs just suck in general.

I do run often so that also helps with my leg conditioning of course.

Just go higher reps and avoid training for size.

I hurt my shoulder over the summer so spent most of the time doing squats, sometehing I never really did for years. Its the workout I enjoy the most now, but my leg proportions are all off when it comes to jean sizes too haha. Quads/arseare relatively bigger compared to the rest from running and sports over the years.

My legs are pretty big. I was a hard core skater from 13 to about 22. Up until I got my drivers license at 18 I skated every where, and I mean every where. I didn't even realize at the time but my legs got super big but I've always wore baggy pants so the "skinny jeans" is not an issue. Even now you will never catch me in tight pants, just can't do it.

I train the odd person in lifting and will dabble in it from time to time but I try to keep me training as varied as possible.

Tell me what is the first step in not drinking pop. This is something I cannot stop doing. I don't even drink caffeine pop. Where can I get my fizz without all the junk.

I have done this and it was hard as, might sound like I'm being a smart arse but im not, treat it like getting off of a drug addiction, some researchers say that sugar creates the same chemicals in the brain as heroine addiction. Slowly reduce your sugar and carbs in general, Atkins was right, low carb hi protein is the way to go, with a moderate amount of healthy fats. Checkout "that sugar movie", google the paleo diet, Ancel Keys - the sugar industry knew long ago that sugar was the main bad guy in disease and obesity and not fat - which was the falsehood this pig doctor helped to spread the low fat high carb diet which is a crock of absolute ****. Listen I love chocolate too but from experimenting with diets a lot I can say the less carbs you eat the better, I very rarely get a sugar craving now. Not for everyone but for me the Paleo Diet is the only diet that has ever made me feel good in my own body and to feel like I had a good handle on food, but I go back and forth between its strict guidelines and the more open diets espoused by Chris Kresser and the Primal Blueprint. Don't expect any drastic change unless you are willing to change drastically, lose weight before you're 30 otherwise its a very uphill battle. Just thought I'd chime in

Cool, I can respect that. I like just training purely to get stronger and better at the sport. Started oly lifting recently after powerlifting for a while, it's hella fun and technical

I stopped drinking soda for 2 months once when I attempted the P90x workout. Just dropping soda is a huge help in itself, I did the workout strong for a month & a half & then I slowly faded out. It's a shame because results were becoming evident.

I know that is why I want to quit. It is really hard but I am hoping once I am not living where I live. With people that drink a lot of pop. I won't drink as much.
