Using the BTB update as evidence, it's entirely possible that they won't announce a release date ahead of time at all.
They arent publicizing it nearly enough. They should have been mentioning that it is coming with every update. No one outside the forge community is even gonna know about it till they see a little option on their main menu that they will likely never select. They need a feature on IGN or something. I doubt most players even know the majority of the maps they are playing on were forged.
What kind of special effects are available for ambience? I've seen the different colors of fire available. Will we be able to place forerunner laser beams for visual effect? If so can we change the color?
Hi. Planning on forging again with h5 (not that I've ever really been a forger of caliber). For those of you who don't know me I was a mod and content producer for a very short time at THC before it fell apart. I spent most of my time there on the forge forums. Anyway...on topic: I plan on doing a Chill Out remake for h5...sort of. This will mostly be just me getting my feet wet in the new forge, but I'd like to try and experiment with the curves and colors to try and make it look more like a modern covenant map rather than a purple box like in h1. I know there's a lot of talk about different settings, but I plan on forging my first map for default settings, just to see how it goes. After that I'll probably jump on the squad/BTB train. What's your first project going to be? Or what are you most interested in experimenting with in the new forge?
I'm interested to see what kind of crazy new gametypes/mini games can come out of the new forge systems. I really hope there are a few returning gametypes that accompany the forge release, but we may need to get creative till they add the good ones back in. Normal maps will be awesome and all but the unique experiences will really help custom games to come back in full force.
Are there Teleporters in Halo 5? A few pages back Teleporters were mentioned, but it was referring to how many of one item could be placed. The Teleporter was used for that example. Thought I would ask everyone here at Forgehub as there hasn't been a Yes/No answer.
@J A Y I can't give a definitive answer as I have never seen one in person, but I do recall them talking about forgers being able to set the direction that players will exit the teleporters.
There are no longer limits on the number of available pieces. You could place 200 Receiver Nodes if needed. Also, there are more than one type of teleporter in Forge. They were not final when we were there so i can't elaborate, but it's kind of like the different styles of grav lifts in H2A Forge.
That's great. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I imagine it'll be the regular three types of teleporters. 2-way, Sender and Receiver Nodes with the option of choosing the channel.
Yes, there will be regular multi-channel 2-way, Sender and Receiver Nodes, as there were in previous games, as well as a new type of teleporter base which is visually different from the basic style. The default teleporter bases can be colourized using the full colour palette.
I love that they're giving us variety with this iteration of Forge. I have another question. Regarding the Terrain auto-locking onto objects that you are placing, are we able to turn that off so we can regularly geo-merge objects into the ground?
Was 1600+ Forge pieces not enough for you to start with? Fine here's 1700+ pieces, and yes of course there will be more, ya bunch of whiners. lol That's good, keep it coming.
How I imagine this going down: "Forge shipped with only 11 real pieces, but 343 likes to claim the real number was 1700. Bullshit. We got 11 pieces, 3 of which were walkway cover larges. We got 7 toys and 1682 modified variants of the walkway cover larges. But still, 11 real forge pieces is pretty good. And the pieces are all of decent quality. Probably the best quality overall for a release"
