Just had an awesome day split screen gaming with the boys. We went old school had a 1.5kg sack of peanut M&M's with fancy ass truffles via my buddies wife, hot dogs, multiple types of chips, dips, salsa, pop, booze, and veggies cause we don't digest this crap so well anymore, and home made Korean BBQ for dinner cause we are gluten's for punishment. Started with a little Red Faction 2, which is ****ing epic in it's own right. This game needs to be released on the xbone and uprezed to it's PC equivalent. What was great, is the game was more fun to play, then the enthusiasm we originally already had, at the idea of playing it. There were tons of fun maps, but honestly it was the OP weapons that really made it awesome. I'll toss up youtube links just in case somehow people don't know these games. Followed up with some GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, which we had a blast playing almost because of the heavy contrast in game mechanics to Red Faction 2. I can't say it was something we would aim to put in regular rotation but everyone really enjoyed it. Next up Halo Reach - The boys called out requests for my personal maps on this one (made me feel kinda special) So we started with a Revenant ralley on my Revenant Rampage Arena map. Holy crap does this rally map wipe me out! You have absolutely no time to take a break with 4 players on the map. I was actually happy when it was over. I couldn't imagine playing multiple matches back to back. Also played Hornets Nest and it made us realize we forgot how to play Halo Reach and also how to use Jetpacks. We finished off the day with some Black Ops 3 4 player Split screen action (Because we could) and it was gorgeous. The gameplay was a blast even if the whole triple jump wall running mechanic was a bit hokey for a COD title. The levels were really entertaining and I didn't realize how much I liked jumping in and out of the water while shooting people before this game. We probably spent the least amount of time playing BO3 but I can't wait to sit down and customize a character so I can give it a thorough once over. I can't say how much of a group disappointment it was that we couldn't throw Halo 5 into our lineup. I've been having a blast playing it, and on nights like these, the void it leaves is apparent. That being said, we really did have a great time, and we vowed to reduce the time between FPS gaming events. I mean, there are peoples honor at stake! Just a reminder to the masses, pull out those old titles. They still have alot of life left in them.
red faction 1 and 2 are the most underrated shooters of all time. I just remember digging cave systems and how interesting the sandbox was. Never saw you do it but you can shoot people through walls with the railgun.
@purely fat ya the original RF games are awesome. It was pretty hard to switch from it, and the whole point was to get in some Xbox One gaming. lol. In the end the Xbone only saw just over an hour of the 10 hours we gamed. A couple of my buddies love the rail gun, fortunately for me only one of them was there last night. Man do I miss throwing bots into a match. The BO3 maps were great but even with 4 players they were just a bit too large. @Doju We kept it simple and just did a basic chicken and a beef Bulgogi with some Sookju Namul? (bean sprouts side dish) Kimchi and a few other side dishes plus we ate it proper lettuce wrap style. Had 2 BBQ's going so we could get back to gaming as fast as possible. I much prefer making it at home as the flavors are typically more pronounced. It's just too bad that we miss out on some of the side dishes, and I still haven't learned how to make Jap Chae.
Samjang is a requirement as well as Gochujang. Samgyeopsal is too much like just having bacon for me to want to have it when having other Korean food. Just a personal preference, not that I'm against it though.
lol. I haven't been a fan of getting Soju ever since I watched a buddy nurse it so much that by the end I sware he had more saliva in his bottle than Soju.
I remember being able to customize how good bots were in the first red faction. I didn't really mess with it in the second one.
Ya you could customize in rf2 as well. I did it in the past. From memory I think it had the most advanced bot profiles.
