In the Live show on launch night they stated that weather effects are currently not available, but that they could possibly be added later. They didn't make any guarantees though.
Yeah, he didn't dismiss the Idea and then went on about how they want to continue to support forge after launch. I see rain in our future!
Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere. Is it possible to do a single flag CTF via Breakout game type. There's an old Forge Hub favorite game type of mine called "In Your Base" on the map "Stealin' your flags." It was a single flag game type from the REACH game. I loved playing that with friends, but Halo 4 completely gave up on that game type... So I was hoping to recreate it. Perhaps via Breakout, or perhaps 343 will reintroduce Single Flag CTF. Any thoughts? --- Double Post Merged, Oct 29, 2015 --- Also, will Grifball return? And Ricochet?
The canvases are all about the same size. They already mentioned that Grifball will likely return before Ricochet. I believe you can reverse engineer Grifball to play Ricochet.
We did not have access to custom games while we were there, and have no insider knowledge on their plans for game variants.
Well, since it wasn't answered on Skype: Were the Cartographers forced to do "remixes", or did you guys just feel like being noobs? And: The Breakout maps aren't forge, right? I had a feeling it was too good to be true.
I would assume that if the Breakout maps weren't Forged, they wouldn't have that crappy placeholder preview image. My money will be on forgeable. Can I take a moment to again comment on the fact that they really need to allow us the ability to set our own map preview images. I don't know what half the 50+ maps I have in my Reach customs drawer are. I have to open each and every bloody map every time I go back to play a few rounds. Excuse me while I click the generic Forgeworld image and open this map to see if it's what we want to play.
Breakout maps are all forged. It's been confirmed multiple times, and was discussed in one of the most recent Sprint episodes. Regarding the Cartographers maps, it was mentioned in The Sprint that they were given a list of BTB maps and asked to choose one from the list. They had some creative freedom though, and didn't have to remake maps exactly as they were in the original.
That's odd, because the objects in breakout look way more sophisticated than what the cartographers were working with. They look like pre fab objects, which would suck. That sucks. I think Halo has really suffered from constantly relying on old maps to hold up the multiplayer, and I don't think they've acknowledged that. The forge maps looked well done, it just sucks that they couldn't do original maps. The sooner we can replace Orion and Pegasus, the better.
Whats the chance of 343 holding a forge competition then "arting" up the winner like they did with the breakout maps?
I deviated pretty far from Longbow. War and I just took inspiration from the BTB maps we were supposed to remake and focused that inspiration into entirely new, original maps. We didn't listen very well
I could tell, and I'm glad. Now could you guys stop being scrubs and open your party when you're in them? I don't have many people from halo on my list anymore.
There are very few Breakout prefabricated structures. Most are made of several pieces. Let me be clear on this. ALL Forge inventory items, including Breakout pieces and other canvas specific items like Alpine's Terrain, are available on ALL canvases, including any canvas released in the future.
So if a Breakout piece was spawned on Alpine it would have the blue grid pattern? If so, that would make for some cool displays (like radar screens and stuff)
From the sprint video it looked like they textured all of the breakout maps, that might mean they did the floor also.
That sounds pretty promising. Hopefully it's as good as it sounds, and I finally can make a return to forge.
