Now it would be extremely misleading if those 1600 blocks were just different sizes 3-5 times of the same block. I mean you never know right?
I thought the limit was 1024 Space Whales. And R3stinP3ac3, we've always had different sizes of several blocks. But the entire palette is 8x the size of anything we've had before, so even if a bunch of them are just the same block but in different sizes, there will still be far more unique pieces than what we've had before. At least, that's what I would assume.
My mistake, you can place 1023 Space Whales. What was once the Block menu is now the Primitives menu. It contains Blocks, Triangles, Cylinders, and Rings. Each of those contain dozens of size and shape variations, and that's just one menu. The Floors menu contains about as many items as the old Blocks menu and vary in size from the old 2x2 Flat all the way up to the Grid size. You can build entire complex bases from just those 2 menus.
Maybe you can't answer this, but in addition to the Primitives and Floors, how many other menus are there? If you can answer that, can you say what the other menus are named?
Was there a decent amount of new incline pieces? Like were there a good variety of stair pieces also? What about window pieces, were there also more of them? Are they better than the one sin h2a? Also what about door/gates/fences? Were there a decent variety as well?
Stairs now look like stairs. There are windows similar to the old ones, and plain glass pieces you can see in the video. Not sure about doors etc. Snap and rotation are all new and far superior to previous iterations.
Oh I know darkprince909 I just wouldn't them to repeat what H2A did with just scaling the sizes of certain pieces like terrain or what have you. More diverse pieces are preferred we are getting plenty but the more abstract pieces the better. I hope windows have an option of breakable glass in Halo 5 like how they had in some Halo 2 maps.
I believe it'd be fairly simple for them to use a similar functionality to the theater systems screen shot tool implemented straight into forge and then have an option to use as thumbnail. This would also be good so that you wouldn't have to go into theater to take screens if they added in a filter for objects not visible in gameplay as well. Another thing I would definitely suggest to them would be then to add a "Save and upload to fileshare" button directly from forge. Both of these would be very useful for creators and use a lot of coding that they've made in the past. They are already releasing a half of a game though, so I'd more or less just bring them up for when the second half of halo 6 is planned to be released.
You don't screen shot within forge. All the spawns and objectives are showing, and the lighting is not representative of the map in custom games.
I know. I was simply providing something that would be a solution that's less complicated then what you described that they said and nice to see in halo 6.
How Easy are decals to apply? Also, are they individual letters and numbers that have to be placed separately or will we be able to type what we want to display?
There is no ColiWall but the 4th from largest Floor piece is about the same size. Yes you can splatter with Forge objects. Place-able letters A-E, numbers, several logos, and many <<<<CAUTION>>>>> signs and decorative lines. They apply like stickers.
I wonder why they didn't give us the rest of the alphabet... I'm assuming you can resize the decals? If so, and if we had the whole alphabet, that would allow us to name buildings on urban maps, for instance, and basically make about any sign/decal that would still be missing. And they would be super easy to add in before launch...
I just want to say this just in case 343 is listening. No more lame ass File Share server limit. If this ends up working the way it is being designed to. Then there is going to be alot of shared content and having a max of 25 files uploaded on File Share will be even more limiting than it was in the past. Storage space cost is a fraction of what it once was back in good ol 2007 with it's cutting edge 1TB hdd, and sharing has increased with it.
Because some forgers suffer from Turrets Syndrome. You can not re-size the decals but some come in 2 sizes.
