I personally was not the biggest fan of Hivemind 1.7, and when playing it in a lobby had people shouting out things like "This is too hard!" "Why is it one hit!" "Mom I can't pause it!" Afterwards we returned to 1.6 which I actually ended up having a smoother time with. This was about two weeks ago however so bare with me if I am remembering incorrectly, but I believe 1.7 is indeed a 1-hit for the humans? I can't say I am a huge fan of that, but if that's what ultimately provides the best game play experience according to your findings, then I'm all on board. I also have a few maps cooking in the pot, however Infection has been put on a temporary hiatus for me until this Squad Contest blows over. Apparently in the next update, 343 will indeed be adding Action Sack to the mix, which means I'd say we truly are one step closer to a possible Infection Playlist. "There's a storm com'n 'Harry- best we'd all be ready for ed"
So does anybody know if we can use an Infection gametype where the unnecessary music doesn't start at the end of a round?
I've had this Last Stand map that I've been working on for quite some time now and is now definitely ready for a playtest, but I've been hesitant to post it in here until I got at least one playtest on it. However, I haven't been able to get into any customs as of lately to be able to even think about possibly getting a playtest on it, so I've decided to upload it to my File-Share and post it in here anyways. Map Name: Terrestrial Warehouse Author: HAL0 M4N (the 0 is a zero) Gametype: Last Stand Object count: 590
well ive made infection maps and I've reached mostly max item count and they work fine people say my maps get big. xD
Theyre talking about bringing infection into matchmaking in the coming weeks, however if we or the cartographers havent heard anything by now, id say the chances of user made maps making the cut isnt going to happen. They probably dont want to risk it since the forge is so untrustworthy
I'm doing my best at contacting them. Putting together a list of maps and gametypes and emailing it to Tashi, Bravo and BS Angel. If it doesn't work out, I guess we tried. Hopefully they'll at least playtest this stuff. If they do playtest the best stuff and still refuse to add it, then I've lost all faith. #imissbungie --- Double Post Merged, Aug 6, 2015 --- So I tested Hivemind 1.7, it's not one hit. Don't know what gametype you tested, maybe somebody modified it. Assassinations are still 1 hit, but that just makes sense am I right? Regardless, to avoid confusion Hivemind 1.8 and Last Stand 1.4 are up on the FS. Also fixed the setting where infected could see humans on radar even if they weren't moving. Crouch sneaking is back!
Sounds good! I've still got a few infection maps in me but I'd be interested to see the list you've narrowed things down to.
So they have announced their plans for infection! "Thanks to popular demand, Infection will be the next featured playlist in MCC. The playlist will include the following game types: Halo 3: Braaaains, Creeping Death, Save One Bullet, Hide and Seek, Speed Demons Halo 2: Anniversary: Infection, Cadre Halo 4: Flood, Hivemind, Last Stand" So Hivemind and Last Stand WILL be in match making... for Halo 4. Has anyone been forging any infection maps for H4? Cause I'm pretty sure we were all focusing on H2A... which means 343 must have made the upcoming Hivemind and Last Stand maps... which means... oh gawd
New map in need of testing: Map: "Cement River' (working title) Gametype: Last Stand There's a lot more meat to the map than what's shown in the pictures, including caves, run off tunnels, and access to the interior of the factory and its pipeline. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 26, 2015 ---
Planning on having a testing lobby for Outlast and Last Stand maps. If you have a freeroam map just stick a haven on it as Outlast is pretty much better Hivemind ( h2a version wise). Either tonight or tomorrow night. reply and stuff so I see what time people prefer
K tomorrow it is then --- Double Post Merged, Aug 28, 2015 --- Infection Testing lobby tomorrow evening 5 pm Arizona time
Hey guys, I don't think I know any of u that well and I don't have too much experience making infection maps but I'm quickly getting to grip with making well designed Infection maps. Don't get me wrong im not new to forging at all, Ive made loads of mini game maps and remakes, its just, to me it feels more rewarding making Infection maps simply because I enjoy playing them alot more and they can be so much more complex and visually appealing then most mini game maps and other then Infection maps theres core maps and I cant see myself ever making core maps. On that note I recently made my first decent infection map (Bates Motel) and made a holdout styled infection gametype (Stronghold). Here's the video if anyone want to check it out. let me know what you think P.S. I hope you liked the map and I will have more infection maps soon, im actually working on a fallout vault inspired map atm and I'm really excited to finish it.
For those who don't know the specifics on how to make your map compatible for Outlast. Load your map up in forge with the infection gametype. Then place a generic hill around your entire map. Then label your hill as a haven in the advanced settings.
