This is a little something that I have been working on for HCS. The map is an attempt to create the halo 5 space battle experience without having to play halo 5 or play any game at all! There is a low chance that the map is playable and even if it is good luck getting a lobby together! As you can see we have the dynamic lifts holding up the structure, even though were in space. You can also see the tactical sheild doors because we are super soldiers and we like to fight in space but sometimes we like gravity too. Finally, we have the epic lighting that has been patented by a Chunk.
Yo man, what are you talking about? I hope for you that this is irony. Otherwise I'd have to tell you that there is no 'holding up' in space. Your structure as it is right now would constantly get faster and faster. Spartan fights would be a mess as nobody could move straight forward and would be pushed to the ground until the whole station would crash against some object in space. You gotta get that right.
Actually, assuming the acceleration in the lifts is constant the structure would be always moving at the same speed and the Spartans the same speed with it. They could move and jump normally relative to the moving station because they are going the same speed in the same direction as the station. But... yea hitting a planet would be a problem. The actual map itself looks interesting so far. The concept of moving into a centralized gravity-less zone is pretty reminiscent of Condemned from Halo Reach, but of course the openness of it makes it all the more perilous. I can't help but think that the lack of clear "jumpless" transitions from outside to inside may cause trouble for any scuffles in the area to be prevalent though.
Actually, constant acceleration =/= constant speed. One of the core premises of general relativity is that there is no difference between being in an accelerated frame and a frame with gravity. The equivalence principle, I believe. Without being able to see the images, which I can't for some reason, I don't know the exact results, but I assume it would just feel to the spartans like a gravitational attraction towards the map. The magnitude would vary based on the strength of the "dynamic lifts". As for the map, can't see it but sounds interesting from the descriptions.
Alright, I think this has gone on long enough. This was a complete joke and this map is just an unfinished Akasha that chunk was showing me. I decided to add some shield doors and add a few lights to make the map fit the standard. Akasha will be a great map, even without my help.
I know constant acceleration does not necessarily mean constant speed and I worded that wrong, but the spartans are always moving the same speed as the station relative to the station. This part of your post quoted is pretty much the main takeaway from what I was saying.
