Halo Community Update 3.27.15 - https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/halo-community-update-3-27-15 When we released our most recent update, we mentioned that the team was hard at work on next month’s update, and seeing as April is drawing near, we’re checking in to provide the latest on The Master Chief Collection. Let’s get into it. Content Updates We’re pleased to say that this month’s update has normalized and improved matchmaking, and we’re looking forward to delivering additional updates that address top community items and requests. Our next CU, which is on track for delivery in April, will address a variety of issues across the game, including specific improvements to ranking, new quit and betrayal penalties, and more as we prepare to roll out ranks to additional playlists. We’ll provide more about what’s included as we get closer to the release of the CU. As always, full patch notes will be released once the CU becomes available. Playlist Updates The team continues to build out additional experiences, and is also working to update team sizes for select playlists. This evening we've rolled out an update for the Halo: CE playlist that changes the team size from 2-3 players to strictly 2 players, and will be monitoring the playlist for a day or two to ensure that the settings are acting as intended. Based on results and feedback, we’ll be looking to update team sizes and player counts across existing and upcoming playlists, including Team Doubles, as we get closer to the next update. Lastly, SWAT and Team Snipers will both make a return into the rotation in the near future, and we’ll continue to evaluate playlist data to determine which playlists become permanent additions. Oh,I get it! It's all a metaphor! The ruins are the current state of the Halo community, with Chief representing the old fans from back in the Bungie days, buried and defeated. The statue is what 343 put up to save face and show that they "care" about the old fans and the Halo legacy, while Locke represents 343i and all their fanboys, coming to kill the franchise! It all makes sense now!
There are two ads... Which are basically opposite... So... Anyways, it's pretty neat the way did these commercials. There is some speculation that one is the truth and the other is what the other told their superiors. Also note: Locke has one shot in his BR before he drops it.

Let’s get to it. MCC Content Updates The April content update, which focuses on ranking, title-specific improvements, and more, remains on track for delivery this month, and the team is putting on the finishing touches, and running final test passes. We’ll provide details about the full contents once we have locked a definitive release date. Additionally, we’ll detail some of the new systems that are being put in place regarding quitting, betrayals, reputation, and more. Look for more info soon. MCC Playlist Updates This week, we released Team Doubles, which allows you to play a mix of Halo 2 Classic, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4 game types, and we'd like to thank you for your feedback on the playlist. We will adjust voting options and weighting in a future update to improve the mix of BR-start game types. Last week, I didn’t mention Team Objective, and I do believe some of the strategists and tacticians amongst our ranks began to worry. Fear not, hill holders and flag fumblers: Team Objective is still on the way, and tentatively scheduled for release in the coming weeks. Additionally, we’re looking forward to bringing SWAT back into the mix. #HUNTtheTRUTH For those of you who haven’t yet begun following #HUNTtheTRUTH, the story follows the detailed and enigmatic reports from 26th century war journalist and photographer Benjamin Giraud, who you originally met way back in the Halo Graphic Novel story Second Sunrise over New Mombasa. Giraud is on the hunt for the truth behind the Master Chief; who he is, how he became the hero we know, and how things may have changed since the Covenant War ended. Through both never-before revealed visual documentation as well as lore-laden audio episodes, you can join Ben on his journey to discover more about the Chief than ever before. HALO: THE MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION: APRIL CU, RANKS, AND MORE Over the past few weeks, the team has been cranking away on the upcoming April update, which has now entered the certification process and is on track for release next week. We’ll have the full patch notes when the update goes live, but here are a few of the items that will be included in the update: New penalties and monitoring for quitting and betrayals A variety of ranking system improvements and fixes Updated Halo 3 Forge to include editing for all game types In addition to the above, we’ll also have game-specific improvements for each title, improvements to parties and stability, and more. We’re excited for this update, and we are hope you are too. Which brings us to the next question – what’s up with ranks? As mentioned above, the April CU will contain a wide variety of improvements to the ranking system, which will allow us to begin to roll out ranks to additional playlists. Shortly after the content update drops (we’re aiming for the next day or so), we’ll be resetting ranks for the Halo 2: Anniversary playlist, and also adding ranking to Team Slayer and the Halo Championship Series playlists. Over the following days, we’ll be monitoring results to ensure that everything is working properly before adding ranks to additional playlists. With this same update, we’ll be bringing SWAT back as the featured playlist, this time with Halo 3 game types included, as the April CU will also bring with it some additional fixes to allow for Halo 3 map / game type integration into new and existing playlists. This also means that over the next few updates, you can expect more non-default Halo 3 maps and game types to make their way into matchmaking. Be sure to keep an eye on Waypoint and Twitter to know exactly when everything goes live IRON GAMES HCS ATLANTA This weekend, Season 2 of the Halo Championship Series officially kicks off in Atlanta, GA, at Iron Games HCS Atlanta. In the off-season, team rosters saw quite a shakeup - to get a full breakdown of the new team lineups, head here, or keep reading for some quick highlights: Following the season 1 Finals, CLG’s Heinz made his way to Denial eSports, while CLG picked up Cloud to round out their roster. Maniac made the move to the now 8th seeded OpTic Gaming, taking the place of ContrA, who now joins RyaNoob, Naded, and Randa on the 1st seeded squad. Unsurprisingly, Evil Geniuses, the Season 1 Champions, are the only squad to have made no changes, and they come in with the 2nd seed. One of the biggest stories of the weekend, though, will undoubtedly be the return of iGotUrPistola to the Halo Championship Series. He’ll be joining long-time teammates Hysteria, FearItSelf, and Victory X on Cloud9. It’s going to be an intense weekend of competition, and I’ll be surrounded by some of the best casters and analysts in the game – Dave “Walshy” Walsh, Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez, and Michael “StrongSide” Cavanaugh. HALO: SPARTAN STRIKE As you likely heard earlier this morning, Halo: Spartan Strike is now available on Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, Steam, iPhone, and iPad, giving you plenty of options for some top-down shooter action. The team here at has teamed up once again with Vanguard Games to create 30 unique missions through cities and jungles that will equip you with an arsenal of weapons, abilities and vehicles (including the ‘Hog) to fight against Covenant and Promethean enemies. In Spartan Strike, you are a Spartan in a classified ONI simulation that starts during the events of Halo 2 on New Mombasa in 2552. I hope the ranks actually work so I stop getting bad teammates. It seems like every single game I play I get the worst kids on my team and I am facing the kids who actually understand what they are doing. It is quite a feeling. Is there anything in regards to if I was searching with a team of four, I would match a team of four only? A better example would be I always search in a party of two, I should match no higher than a party of two, right?
yeah but exceptions to these rules are probably made during times of lower populations. Ranking and matching players evenly works best when there are a lot of parties and groups to choose from.
