I swear Chunk lol you're the only person who could ever react so positively to that announcement. I love your outlook ahahaha
Ha! The way I see it, using a forge map that plays poorly is bad for both HCS and for forgers. If forge maps are going to be used, I want them to be a positive representation of the forge communities effort.
Nah, I already have a job that I'm perfectly happy with. Seriously, I don't see why my reaction is surprising. Does anybody actually think it was a bad decision to not use the forge maps for the first event? Would other forgers actually be happy to have their map used, even if it wasn't ready for competitive play and would not play well?
I think its more that people are very annoyed with the whole process, and nobody wants to compliment 343 on a good decision because of multiple bad decisions made because of that. Its like pissing on your floor, setting it on fire, then successfully extinguishing the fire, nobody wants to compliment you for putting out the fire. Superb analogy.
I think anyone who's read my posts about the whole process would know that I think they've made a slew of bad decisions. At the same time, I'm glad they didn't compound their bad decisions by sticking with them when it was obvious they were bad decisions. I believe that when you mess up you should fess up, then work to set things right. I applaud them for trying to do that in this particular situation, and also hope they make better initial decisions moving forward so we don't have a repeat performance. I know the internet is supposed to be the place where everything get's blown out of proportion, but sometimes I forget that and express a balanced perspective. It's one of my weak points, and I'm working on it. OMG 343 SUCKS!!! :halo5: baby steps
Has 343 contacted forgers since taking the forge maps out of the rotation? Does it appear it's 343's intention to improve and include forge maps for season 2, or have they given up? @a Chunk @WaiHo
I have never received a message from anyone of 343 ever. So at this point I have no idea what the plan is for the maps for season 2. Maybe @WARHOLIC or @NOKYARD could shed some light on this.
343 will never directly contact forgers. It's one of the reasons the CC group was started. As far as i know they haven't changed their plans. If they decide not to use them twitter will likely be tbe first to know.
Bravo sometimes gets in touch with forgers via twitter but that is a rare occurrence. If you made any changes to your map after last we spoke let me know.
No changes have been made, I haven't even been online since lol Been too busy with schoolstuff lately.
Well, the cancellation of cup #1 today was due to the recent April patch creating huge party issue bugs. Basically, people can not connect with each other, see friends on roster, etc. It was such a huge problem however unrelated to the HCS team.
No, that was released a few months ago, and worked fine. This was one of the monthly updates that was meant to introduce ranks, among other things. I haven't personally experienced any problems, but a lot of people are having issues keeping parties together again.
Season 2 Online Cup Update Since our 4.21 update, we’ve discovered a bug that is limited to joining parties with players that have a large number of people on their Xbox Live Friends List. Over the past week, we’ve partnered with the Xbox Live team to identify and create a hotfix for this issue. We are currently planning to release the hotfix next week after further testing. All other aspects of online gameplay, including matchmaking, are unaffected. Due to release timing of the hotfix, we are rescheduling this weekend’s HCS cup for June 6. As we are aiming to have this specific issue resolved by next weekend, we are planning on holding the first online cup of Season 2 on May 9 and 10. Additionally, the prize money that was originally going to be awarded with online cup #1 will be spread out amongst the remaining 7 online cups. We apologize for the delay of the start of Season 2’s online cups, and can’t wait to get things underway. Stay tuned to HaloWaypoint.com/HCS and @Halo for the latest updates.
