Well, it's hard to say congrats when its a map that was thrown together last minute that by some strange luck of the draw beat out much better choices. Saying congrats is only a courtesy here, really, out of respect for you as a forger. It's not a bad map, but it was a far cry from being one of the better choices, let alone deserving of this. Sorry man.
I actually had a chat with Diesel earlier on twitter about how he's looking really bad with his complaining over this. Turns out he's not so much upset that Tesla didn't make it, it's more that Eden did. He's fine with Epic as it's a passable map, but he was actually really wanting Erupt or Athelon to make it (even over his own map). Turns out his opinion and mine are fairly aligned here, as I'd rather have Tesla over Eden too.
Whether or not everyone likes the maps that made it in (I do really like Eden, and Epicborough seems pretty cool too. Just glad Tesla didn't make it), I think we need to take this round as a learning experience so that for season 3, we don't run into the issues we faced this time. All in all, I'm just glad there's more than 3 maps now.
Yes i'm bitching. If you talk to Blaze and they other forger that helped work on a newer version of Tesla, they'll probably tell you that i'm not a awful as some of you make me out to be. Yea i bitched on twitter, but i'm just going to say this. Just because you (forgers) test maps and think they play well doesn't mean they will play well at a high level of play. THAT IS FACT. I also don't care that tesla got in. I do however care that Athelon wasn't picked and i would've like to see Erupt in as well. I enjoy Epic but spawns suck in H2A so.... there you go. I'm just not a fan of Eden . You'll soon learn why when snipedown plays on that map.

Very happy waiho got a map in. Happy for chunk he is getting his name out there more, even if it's hilarious that he always trashes epic, and 343 still picks it
But still thank Christ tesla did not make because if it did I would have just looked out the window thinking what 343 could possibly do next
Yes Eden's in, lets be real Eden is the most unique, well playing and interesting themed map in all of the maps submitted. Really happy with Epicborough as well but why ricochet? that's a casual game type.
Haha. I wouldn't say I trash it. I'd guess it's in the top 1% of forge maps in H2A. I just try to be objective based upon what I've seen of the map, and I set my standards really high. My comments on the map have been mainly focused on how it plays Slayer, since I assumed that would be its best gametype. It's being added for 3 gametypes, and Slayer isn't one of them. The only gametype of the 3 that I've actually seen played worked mediocre at best, though I did make some adjustments afterward that may have significantly improved the map for that gametype. The other 2 gametypes I've never seen played on it, and I personally haven't played anything except Slayer on it. So, it's possible that it will work well on the gametypes it's slotted for. I'm just skeptical. I don't feel it's had sufficient testing. Congrats to WaiHo and Xandrith!
Schnitzel, Having Eden in is big step forward for the comp community to embrace asym forge maps (I saw a comment on BE saying asym maps aren't good for spectating, CS go says hi) and opens the door for similar maps to be used in future halos. If tesla had got in then it further establishes "midship or nothing". Look at the picture on a bigger scale rather than this weird defence of tesla.
Congrats guys. Really good job. Super happy to see forge maps in the rotation. Disappointed that some of them including my own didn't make the cut but this is still a good day for all forgers honestly. Thanks cartographers for helping with the early maps selection and pushing all of these high quality maps. By the way, when halo 5 starts looking for some maps, all of you better watch out because I'll be pouring my blood sweat and tears into my projects for it!
Thanks man! Its nice to see the design come this far! Its really sad to see that slayer isn't one of the gametypes for Epicborough keep. In my opinion, the map is not deserving of a spot over Erupt or Athelon unless slayer is one of the gametypes. 343 really can't do anything right.
