I was wondering, has Eden been changed/edited from my own version? I couldn't access the HCS official fileshare so I couldn't check it for myself.
You can download the map from the FH file share to see the differences. Not much other than removing a few trees, correcting z fighting, removing static timers / triggers, moving sentinel and switching one way shields for a forerunner lift.
whaaat, no static timers. And War, the forerunner lifts are broken. You can get stuck in them really easily with no way to get out of them.
I elevated the forerunner lift for now so its functional but I agree, its something to refine if the map is selected for Atlanta.
I would like to know what this is other source as, as thus site was led to believe that we were assigned to draw up a shortlist, a fairly logical decision since this site has the biggest/best collection of forgers/map critics in halo. To now know there were other sources (aka mates of pros) is pretty disappointing. Tesla is the lowest rated map on the entire site, to see maps like Orion, complexion and oracle turned down is, quite frankly, a slap in the face to the community.
Also there has been ZERO discussion of static timers, why? Transparency, the sign if any good esport dev. 343 does not show this.
Static timers is a decision that the 'Design Team' makes at , which is exclusive from the efforts of the 'Sustain Team'. I would direct your comments to them but I'm not sure who to really refer you to unfortunately. Is Kevin Franklin working on H2A or H5?
the fact that tesla didn't go through the same channels as all the other maps is what bothers me. to be fair it was probably already going to be tested before they requested you CCs bring in more maps but it does show some prejudice.
Who is the best with spawns that would like to help me out. Please and thank you. I'm already working with Blaze on the looks of the map.
I really wouldn't mind if Tesla gets in if it can get up to par, but definitely not as it is. It needs some serious work in the structure, as well as the looks. Diesel, please take Blaze's help wherever he offers it. Maybe Tesla can be something if we put enough work into it.
Sorry, I'm pretty bad at doing spawns. My process usually consists of studying gameplay, then either moving or deleting any 'bad' spawns I notice (or placing spawn zones around them on very rare occasions). I wouldn't even know how to approach the spawning issues with Tesla. You can make some simple changes like re-orienting each spawn point so it faces either the center of the map or another open area. The larger spawning issues are because the design of the map just doesn't jive well with how the spawn system works in this game. It really needs more structure to ensure safe spawning. Open maps create fast, teamwork dependent gameplay, but at the expense of safe spawning, and that definitely holds true in this game. I'll be very surprised if anyone can 'fix' the spawns on the map without adding a considerable amount of structure. And when I say structure, I'm just referring to walls, ramps, platforms, etc.... anything that can block or limit lines of sight. Of course, all of this is coming from someone who considers the spawning on both Onslaught and Amplified to be completely broken, to the point that I would have never considered them fit for competitive play. If anyone is able to sufficiently address the spawning issues, I'll be very curious to see how they accomplish it.
I know my way around spawns, especially after getting Oracle's spawns to the state that they are now. Hit me up on XBL. GT: Squally DaBeanz
i don't think you'll be able address spawning on tesla because there's a sheer lack of places to actually spawn. the only place remotely viable is the basements. every where else is mostly going to leave you out in the open ready to be shot at with no cover to be seen. complexion has this same issue.
