I am trying to make pro players like my map ofc. Boxes hanging on cranes is a must for mlg pro maps.

Then what the **** is grass doing on your map? You know pros don't like grenades that bounce like stickies!

But anyway, keep up the good work on here.

Is one block on this sketch equal to 1 unit or 2 units?
    Are the shaded areas unplayable?

Shaded areas are unplayable (walls), but will mainly function as structural cover, you may be able to jump onto it in areas where it makes sense. Im still undecided on the scale, but i rather want to keep it small and fast paced. First i will try 1 Block = 1 Unit, if that dosen't work out well i will upscale from that point. Walkways could easily be 2,5 Forge-Units.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. I have to confess that I rarely offer feedback on sketches because I struggle to visualize what they'll look like in 3d, so take my feedback with a grain of salt.
I have 2 main concerns that are kind of pet peeves of mine (even though I've done the same thing on my own maps, lol).
    1. Perhaps too much segmentation - I'm particularly concerned about the bases being too segmented from the rest of the map.
    2. Lack of dance floor - This may not be an issue depending upon scaling.
Overall, it looks like a solid layout. I like the fact that the pathways leading into the center are staggered. That should result in good engagement distances. I also like the height variation, which will test a players ability to aim accurately on both horizontal and vertical axis.

I fear like some of the diagonal lines of sights through doorways may be a bit awkward. Lengthen some of the hallways would solve this problem. This would encourage people to move through the halls rather than staying on the stairs and having a standoff with someone who is standing on the opposite. Id' almost suggest removing all of the walls on the sides of the stairs in B and let people see through that area. It would eliminate the segregation and make it so that the dip in the bottom will be the cover and probably push people from the safer sides into the crossing sightlines.

Just got back from a week long trip to Krakow! Any news on the whole HCS thing? Anything interesting happen at all while I was away?

Probably not gonna be back in the gaming scene for awhile still... Got a month to clean out my apartment, find a new one in Poland, and arrange for my move. Not to mention job hunting. Gonna be pretty busy still in the coming weeks.

Just an update... I'm probably done for good this time. Just gotta come to grips that the days of me having free time for gaming are over. Looking to hop on that Investment Banking train, and frankly, the little free time I'll have will be spent either researching, networking, or spending time with friends.

It's been good guys. Wish y'all the best in your future endeavors.

I remember when I said I was going to quit forging and participating on forums; I didn't last very long lol.

Good luck with all that you have to do, it sounds like quite a lot. One day you'll have all your plans set in motion and you will find some time to game, I guarantee it! I just hope Halo can continue being a game worth playing.

Doubt it this time man. Pretty sure this is it for me. Maybe I'll find some time to game here or there, but most certainly not for forging or participating on forums. Gaming was once a healthy distraction from me during my military and uni years, but at this point it threatens to be an unhealthy time sink that'll distract me from more important things in life. Just can't do it anymore.

We've seen some great maps out of you bro. Just wish you could have pushed a little further with Orion and brought it to a final state as a nice parting gift for us. That said, I understand you don't have the time you once did. I'm really happy about your career trajectory and wish you a prosperous future. I know how excited you are about it. We'll be here huddled over our controllers in the meantime. If we had a 'Hall of Forge Famers" I would carve your name on it. Please check back and maybe we can see some of Shnitzel's shenanigans from time to time;)

Dude if you're really going, I'll miss you. You were the first forger to ever take a look at one of my maps (that horrible Aerowalk trashmap in Reach), haha, and really the first person to open me up to constructive criticism. You've put up a bunch of solid maps, dude (I promise, I'll finish Despair one of these years). Good luck on your banking stuff man!! And come back and check out what's going on once in a while...

I will be working on an H2A remake of Dystopia, and have a few ideas for maps in the same engine. One of them being a canyon and bridge based map.

I have a few projects I've been working on. First, before it was announced as one of the maps being tested for HCS, I decided to redo Epicenter/Epicborough to fix some things I didn't like. It's keeping the same core shape and design, but with a different approach to the green section of the map (lift/sniper area). My old partner Xandrith has been helping out, and it's probably fair to say that this has turned into a co-forge. It probably needs about another day or two of work before it's ready for release, which means I'll have it done in about a month, lol.

I also have 3 1v1 maps I've worked on over the last few months, partially to prepare myself for the judging process for the 1v1 contest; hoping to learn a bit about scaling, pacing, flow, etc. on 1v1 maps. I think I already posted previews of Strange Vitality and Rapture earlier in this thread. Strange Vitality is ready to be posted whenever I have time. Rapture had noticeable framerate issues during my playtests, so I'll have to make some changes to eliminate that. Then I have a map named Tron that I haven't shown yet, which is a somewhat experimental design. I'll have to do some playtests to make sure it's not completely broken (which it very well could be) before I post it.

    Here's a pic:

    :p
I'll try to post a real teaser pic of Tron later today.

That sure is a purdy map. Looks like a trimendous layout ;)

Looking at the name of the map, I think you spelled TRIM wrong.
