This is easily one of the best looking and most unique maps i have seen in MCC, but like said above seems like it may be too large for a 1v1. I would have to see it in game and try it to be sure though. Sounds like you did more than your fair share of testing so I could be completely wrong just based off the pictures.
Dont be a **** bro. This map actually looks really nice. I think it may be a little big for 1v1, but from the pics it is hard to tell. I think this is actually one of the more unique looking submissions. Nice work man.
The map looks absolutely amazing! It looks quite big but I have no say as of right now because i havent played on it yet. Great job though kudos to you bro for making a beautiful map.
**** move...... map looks really interesting. you should post up a video using the xbox game dvr and post the link here!
also i have to ask is there any frame rate issue? from the pictures 1v1 im not sure, but i could be wrong. if it is big this would look really fun in a team game. kudos
Sorry if I forgot that in the description, GT is That Dyl Doe. 1v1 maps don't neccesary have to be tiny maps; sanctuary, guardian, and lockout all support 4v4. That being said, this map does looks bigger than it is just because of how I organized the pictures. I gave the aerial view at the end to give you a sense of scale for the map. There are different zones, but it is not hard to find the other player nor is it too easy. Action radiates inwards and up, and it's important to have room to move and breathe even in a 1v1. It's a map in its own respect; it can handle more than a 1v1. There are no framerate issues.
^ dis. I get that it seems large, but without seeing the sightlines none of these guys can truly know how "big" it is, in terms of the gameplay. Having a 1v1 on a Grid piece is irrelevant if you can see the player spawn constantly... the only parts that make the map feel "big" are the parts where sightlines are constricted.
GT is "That Dyl Doe", case-sensitive. Glad people are liking the map, I'll try and get a walk-through video up soon to give you a sense of the layout and scale.
Check Leaderboards for Halo 1's "343 Guilty Spark" on Heroic with timing; don't know the exact rank I have. I'm gonna run through Pillar of Autumn tonight and I'll get that up on the post too.
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical of this map at first. From the pictures, I knew that I liked the style, but couldn't really tell how the layout would play. After seeing the video, I'm curious how it will play 1V1, but it looks like it'll play 2V2 or higher very interestingly. You've definitely inspired me, as I've been trying to think of a good way to design a map in this style. Hope you don't mind if I steal some things from your playbook
Love the band, have you heard the Juggernaught albums yet? Ontopic: I really reaaallly wanna play this before I give any feedback.
there are some spots where the framerate drops noticeable. probably due to the use of too many aesthetic pieces like trees, window large, large walkways and stuff like that
It's definately a little on the bigger side as far as 1v1's are considered, but that doesn't really hurt the gameplay. And feel free; imitation is the best form of flattery I encourage everyone to throw ideas around and work off each other, it makes the products better. Love the band as well and loving both Juggernaught albums, got 'em on release. You know Misha did music for H2A right? I'd love to hear feedback; sadly I can't play myself for a little while, swamped with midterms and such. The word I'd use to describe it: negligable. The youtube video does the map no justice in the framerate department; it streams like crap. That being said every game is different depending on the connection of the players, and for my tests running on University connection I've gotten the chance of framerate drop down to a very low margin of error. I'm not too worried, but if tests and feedback come back and say there is framerate drop and it impacts gameplay, I'll go back and work on that. Update: Video is up, sorry for the quality; intended to show scale and layout only. I hope to get a gameplay video up soon as well.
lolol, i wonder how many people are saying that my map is too big! the size looked fine, and the astetics got me worried about my own map, so good job bro!
