Sweet jesus, I haven't logged into this site in almost 5 years. Seeing my profile and how much things have changed, it's interesting how time goes by. Who all is still around? I see Nemihara! Are the old mods still around? Chrstphrbrrns? I decided to attempt logging back in on here after learning about MCC, somehow manager to revive my old email account to reset my password.
The site was sold, and it resulted in a lot of changes. The staff is entirely new, and you probably don't know many (any) of us if you haven't been around in 5 years. There are honestly not too many left from the heyday of ForgeHub, though some of them still check in from time to time. Mostly, the site is trying to recover from bad Halo games. Activity on all Halo sites dropped drastically. ForgeHub is back on the right path now. We just need a playable game and a good way to share maps/gametypes and all will be right in the world again.
Some of your names give me chills. I don't remember most of you guys, but your names are so damn familiar.
Question. Is Halo: MCC similar to Halo 3? As in, not the game game. But the community/players/maps. I don't own an Xbox One.
No, it isn't. It seemed like it was much easier to connect with the community with H3 because you could link to your fileshare and you would automatically download that item once you signed into Xbox Live. It made it much easier to share content. With that said, I think it might eventually get closer to being the way it once was. There are some new cool tools in Forge so that might trigger a renaissance of sorts. I'm hoping the glitches get fixed because I can't wait to get some awesome custom game nights going.
It wasn't the tools that drove people away, it was the tools being on two shitty games in a row. I'm hoping that with H2A actually being a good Halo game, the community will build back up again. Of course, this hangs on 343i's ability to un**** the connectivity issues and fileshare system.
I'm beginning to wonder if they actually even plan on doing anything for file sharing. I haven't seen them comment on it at all, which seems very odd. I know they have their hands full at the moment, but still...
I was lurking from '09-'10. I've been learning so much from here since then. You guys deserve some sort of award for putting up with me when I was a wee scrub :b I hope MCC breathes some more life into this site.
I don't even know what to say to you people. I feel like I spent my ****ing childhood on this site. Weird.
