https://twitter.com/CertainAffinity/status/533046426989629440 Now is our chance to let Certain Affinity know what we want fixed in TMCC forge. If you're aware of any bugs or performance issues, post them in this thread and we'll add to the list. The Performance Meter is unreliable. Framerate is bad. Many maps begin having framerate problems when they go over 300 pieces (out of 650). The lighting on Halo 3 Forge is much brighter than it should be. Comparison There's no way to change gametypes in Halo 3 forge. There's no way to adjust Trait Zones in Halo 4 forge. No online File Browser. No in-game search function to locate shared files. In the Race gametype in H2A, players don't respawn at race checkpoints. Team specific spawn zones are unreliable. Forge Maps do not save, or they save and then later disappear. Triggers can't be despawned or turned off using power channel. Starting a new round sets your control scheme to default. The level of detail on objects doesn't change according to distance.

I've been having an issue with my maps not saving on the Xbox One after editing things in Halo 2 Anniversary's Forge Mode in basic editing. Am I looking for my maps in the wrong place? I've save the maps multiple times but each time I come back to the game, I had no map variants when I load up the game. Anyone know any fixes? Similar issue?
My map saving has been working without issue so far. I typically do a Save As for every hours worth of time spent to make sure I don't lose much.
Word from Bravo is that there's a workaround for not seeing people's fileshares: 'Temp workaround: If they've played campaign, you can access the share through "Leaderboards," click player name, "File Share."' Source: https://twitter.com/Brav/status/533497454486749185
I do a Save As to start, with multiple saves through the process. Then I loaded the game up after my first session, saw it saved as a Nebula map variant (as it should be), did another Save As on that file in memory, and worked from the new copy of it, and now when I go back in, neither of the two maps are there. Is there some spot I'm not looking? The only thing I can think of is that the game session did not save when I exited the game the second time, because I pressed the home button and switched to another game without really exiting MCC. But what I don't understand is, if I was able to pull the map files from memory before, shouldn't they still be there? Could they have been corrupted somehow? I'll try checking in the Xbox memory to see if they're there.
I have been working on a map since the release of the game, and just today experienced an extremely frustrating forge glitch. Every time I move an object it seems to move in short choppy distances. The effect gets worse when the object comes into contact with another object. At first I thought maybe magnets were on, but soon realized they were not. My first thought was to just quit and reload the map. This didn't fix the glitch. Tried forging on a different map and the glitch still persisted. Loaded forge on a completely different canvas, and the glitch still persisted. So it seems to me that I am permanently stuck with this glitch. This is easily the most frustrating thing I have ever had to deal with. Has anyone else come across this glitch?
Right under 'Rotation Snap' is a new tool called 'Movement Snap'. Check to see if you have that turned on. If so, turn it off. It's useful in certain situations, but it's definitely not something you want turned on all the time.
You were correct, movement snap was indeed the issue. Thank you for that so much, I was really beginning to lose my mind.
Still having the Halo 2 Forge Map issue. Found similar reports on Waypoint, here and here. Anyone know any temporary solutions/workarounds?
I've been working on a Zanzibar (Stonetown) mini-game map today, and ran into something upsetting. If you activate the bridges on the map (wheel bridge or defenders bridge), you can then move the objects in forge. Once moved, it becomes almost impossible to reset it back to the previous position. I ended up having to delete the object and create a makeshift bridge in it's place. I have not saved since I started, so I'd loose WAY to much work to just quit out. Really sad, but oh well I guess. Just giving a heads up for people. I know this isn't really a "bug", but it is something I knew nothing about AT ALL until it was too late.
I had this bug happen to me several times while Forging yesterday. The game was resetting my controls to default (I use Bumper Jumper) if I restarted the round. It happened three times in a row, but I did not try to back out and reload the game.
- triggers can't be despawn or turned off using power channel - LOD none existant on object but exists on spawns - starting new round sets your control scheme to default
Level-of-detail. I learned the term while learning how to use Hammer for the source engine. Basically, objects will have different models and textures depending on how far you are. If you're close to it, it will display a "high-quality" model and texture. If you're far from it, it will swap into a "low-quality" model and texture to conserve resources. Here's an explanation on the TF2 wiki: - https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Model_optimization
