Of course it would have to be adapted. :) Takes some tweaking and time, but Quake maps tend to work pretty well for Halo once the geometry is re-worked out. Spawning is the biggest issue.

Feel free to kick your feet up, expect light moderation. That said, there's a lot to discuss with the upcoming MCC. Should be fun. Here's a little something I'm cooking up:

So, I managed to come across a Forgehub that appears alive and well.

There hasn't been activity in this thread (or possibly any) since October of last year. Is forgehub considered "back" at this point?

Also, it doesn't appear I can change my avatar to my desired choice. That's a little weird.

We're not back just yet but we do have the forums operating, so thats always a good thing. I'm expecting that people will need more time to find the site, its been down for quite some time and forgers aren't very active right now.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm still forging on Halo 4 on a regular basis.
I'm working on something pretty cool right now. I may have scaled it a little too big, but it doesn't matter because nobody plays Halo 4 anyway, lol. I'll post some pics probably within the next week or so.

Spin, if you ever get gold again you should finish up Exhibit. I really wanted to see that. What did you do about the ladder up to rockets? I had thought about trying to forge that map myself before, but wasn't really sure how to approach that one thing in particular.

On my old prisoner remake, I believe I used trait zones to allow players to jump really high, in place of ladders. Basically a jump pad.

That might not be a bad idea for that ladder up to rockets.

Wow, Chunk...I remember seeing you forging on H4 a number of weeks ago and thought to myslef "Maybe Chunk was just checking to see who was online for a bit and left his console on by mistake". But no, you were actually making something:) Looking forward to seeing some preview photos. I should really start to lay down some blocks for the sketch I made earlier but for the little gaming time I have, I've been grinding on Destiny. That game has become a guilty pleasure of sorts...

@Spin - anything wrong with using a grav lift in place of the ladder? that would be my first thought.

I'd prefer trait zones to grav lifts in this case, because I feel like the sound indicator would be pretty detrimental. It would be nice if they just added ladders into forge at some point though.

Regarding what I've been working on over the last few weeks, these are some maps that I recently added to my fileshare. These first three haven't had any testing whatsoever, but they're playable.

This next one isn't my design. It's from a Sketchup done by Nexn. The sketchup was an alternate version of "The Hangout", which was a Halo 3 map designed by Pwnytar. The Hangout was heavily inspired by "Exhibit" from Halo 1.5 (which was also designed by Pwnytar).

Also have 2 unplayable maps that were originally designed and forged by Obama on KFC, then I made some major, totally unauthorized changes, lol. I not going to make these playable or release them since they're not my maps, but feedback would be appreciated nonetheless.

Oh damn, I'm going to wait until I see these in person to comment. I should be within reach of a 360 in a few days. Looking amazing Chunk. Actually really excited to take a peek at these.

I remember looking at these screenshots on BE. They all look really well-made.

My favorite of those is certainly The Bungalow. I can't get used to that name, but I guess that's another term for "The Hangout." I like the contrast along the walls and floors. Part of why I like these styles of maps is how much easier it is to forge.

The only one that I have actually checked out in forge is Grit. I have mixed feelings about the layout. It mostly had to do with the scaling in rooms (in proportion to the general height variation) and some area I remember having weird flow to it. If I get another chance to look at it, I can back this up.

None of the maps are anywhere near being in what I would consider an "official release" state.

Grit is based off a random custom quake map I came across online. I made some changes to it to suit Halo gameplay, but I think I know exactly what you're referring to. It would absolutely benefit from a redesign in a couple of areas. I'm interested in hearing suggestions if you have any.

The Bungalow is a bad name, lol. I slapped a name on it because I wasn't even planning to post it anywhere. I think that map could be greatly improved with some changes also.

I actually really like Indigo. I think that map has some untapped potential. It was somewhat of an inspiration for the map I'm working now in that it's a symmetrical map where the bases don't face each other directly.

The current project could almost qualify as a 3 base map, with the 2 main bases each facing towards a third main section of the map. It's not quite in a playable state yet, but I just put it in my fileshare if anyone wants to check it out. Download Triad

The version I have right now has a grav lift (as warholic mentioned) in front of the platform (not in the middle like the ladder). Biggest problem was getting it consistent (which I mostly did). As long as the pieces would have out I definitely would have moved the grav lift directly under the rocks platform like the original.

BTW @ anyone considering making Exhibit in MCC (chunk?) you might run into problems with portal room being overpowered without the ability to nade down OS/rockets. Not sure how grenade physics will work in H2A.

Not planning to forge it. As of now, all I want to do is play good Halo games. Forge time will be minimal, and most certainly be spent on original maps. I could always change my mind though.

    For anyone unfamiliar, here's Exhibit.

Every Halo fan should check out this channel if you plan to play CE at all. It's phenomenal info from a great CE player.

So we've seen WARHOLIC's sketch for The Master Chief Collection. Does anyone else have something planned?

Apart from a co-forge with Sgt x Slaphead I don't have any legit plans at the moment. Mainly due to the fact I'm not getting Xbox One until the new year. I'll probably start by re-forging my unfinished H4 maps and working on them for a while.

Map inspired by Skyrim level design.

    Looks promising Alex.

I'm kind of curious about how the fileshare system will work for TMCC since there will be forge for 3 different games. I'm also curious about how many forge maps will be added to matchmaking, with over 100 maps already being available. I'd imagine not too many, though there's definitely room for some in the H2A playlists.

I'd imagine only forge maps from H2A will be in a H2A-specific playlist. There probably won't be enough demand for H3/4 forge maps, but I could be wrong. Halo 4 certainly needs them.

So far I'm just re-forging Antagonist again, in one way or another (H4's vs. Reach's, unsure). There was some discussion about making an inverse-pit, so I might attempt that as well.
