Can't hurt to at least try. For what its worth, select was probably my favorite forge map in Reach MM. I wouldn't mind getting to play it again in 4.
I hated the Reach variant, but I do like the current iteration in H4 to be honest... Haven't been able to play for months, so I have no idea how Ricochet will play on it. I heard it's fun, and can imagine it being so... But yeah. All the same, I don't exactly have high hopes. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets ruled out simply because of my reputation.

From what I hear, 343i and CA staffers involved seem to like the mediocre maps most so far. It appears that they still have no idea the potential forge has for level design. Then again, they were blown away by watching GodlyPerfection play around with forge when they invited him for the H4 prelaunch... And they were also blown away by aPK's Countdown remake. They really have no idea about how serious the forge community is about level design and just how far we can push forge's limitations.
First of all APK's remake was downright terrible. I've seen two remakes that trump that to the extreme. There were exploitable jumps, proportions wrong, aesthetics overall were horrible, railings were much too low, lifts didn't work correctly, I could go on. Not to mention there were sections outright copied from another remake. It shouldn't even be called a remake but a map inspired by countdown. So if CA was blown away by that, then I agree with you they have no idea what a great map is and or the full potential of forge.
ChewNation, Cobalt, Parallax, Zed, Butter, Select, The Shortest, Polaris, and Epicenter are the large contenders out of the submissions IMO. Not to say all the others were bad, but those are the few that stand out. Good luck to everybody that submitted!
As you can tell from my sig, I love Cobalt, Select and Epicenter. It's actually tempting to renew my gold to play a little ricochet on these. I'm actually really interested in playing it on my own map... I just had it set up for it and shipped off, but I imagine it'd be fun. Also, best of luck too all participants.
I tried getting in touch with tyrant to let him know that they will only accept one submission, but I don't think he got my message. Hopefully they'll pick the one that plays best. I'll have to check out Zed and Polaris since I haven't seen them yet. The others should definitely be contenders though.
