oVR missed his chance to apologise to Furry by weeks, unless he's done so in private, which would surprise me. Either way, when the admin treats one of the few people who actually gives a **** about the site with as little respect as oVR has done, you have to wonder what the point of caring is anymore.

    -Respectfully,
    Shuman

How did you find the site
What made you want to join
More specifically to you how have I never seen you yet somebody assumed you knew enough about the community to moderate it
then again I don't think any of the staff ever met True Dark Fusion...

We were working on something to introduce ourselves to the FH community as the new staff members, but it's been put on the backburner. Perhaps we should get back on that...

I found the site many years ago in the H3 days. I eventually joined in Reach to post a map. I run customs in H4 quite a bit and consult with lots of forgers on their designs.

Maybe finish a half-decent skin before implementing it then "putting it on the backburner."

That's called a joke. Don't look too far into it.

That's actually the main reason why the Staff AMA was put on the back burner. Getting the new forums online, operational, and optimized is definitely the top priority right now. Everything else is secondary.

A staff ama or staff introduction won't help me, my bookmark for Forgehub hasn't been anything but my subscribed threads in a few years.

And as the new guys, you should know that 99% of any spam I contribute or otherwise troll is to piss off Grif, who has been my friend for near a decade and a half.
My avatar and sig show this. "Froggits" is a reference to a hilarious old joke regarding the time when the staff banished the use of the word ***.

Whenever a staff member posts in this thread I get the same feeling as I do when my parents are listening to a conversation between me and my friends.

I thought maybe you misunderstood Noooooch's comment about the AMA being put on the back burner, since the context in which you referred to it didn't really make sense to me.
I understand that the appearance and functionality of the forums are far more important. Any time spent preparing for a Staff AMA most certainly did NOT have any impact whatsoever on the condition in which these forums launched. The two are completely unrelated. The Staff AMA will not commence until the forums are sufficiently attended to.
If I've misunderstood you, feel free to enlighten me.

We'll back off and give you guys some room. We're just trying to accommodate everyone here during the transition to the new forums.

Let us know if you guys need anything.

I actually have, not that TDF is a forge prophet that unless met means any time spent in Halo was a lie. Also, while being a part of a community for a while might help moderators better understand the personalities of the members of the site, and that is definitely something worth considering, it is not a prerequisite for the ability to "moderate" based on stated rules. There is also the point that there needs to be members of the community who want to be staff and will be active. Numerous sign-ups for new staff have been conducted over the years (which I've participated in the last 3) to gauge interest and while I don't have any facts to back this up but my intuition, my guess was interest from members being staff had waned significantly since well before oVR took over.

Was he around for that long? Jesus how did the site live, he was horrendous(ly hilarious)
It ain't a prereq, and I'm not sure how this kind of stuff works anymore but staff members also used to be voting members of map featuring and tgif hosts, and Yam Farmer shenanigans occurred, so I'd say community integration is a pretty major factor. Also there was a lot more than just admins and staff, there were way more types of staff.
I wouldn't know of any staff sign ups, the front page used to have popups (does it still?) so I quit using the front page and just stayed off it.

no no no, join in the shenanigans and don't judge them, that's how to effectively transition. Yell at grif for being rich, change somebody's name to Yam Farmer for the sole reason that they posted in the chatbox, etc.

And many of the staff do those things. FHF has heavy staff interaction. TGIF will return and staff will be hosting lobbies the same as they used to (although in the past staff stopped doing it so much and lobbies were more held by members who signed up to host them).

Despite what you might believe, it's not like the staff is just here, devoid of knowledge of how to do stuff. Being prominent members in other Halo communities has its own value as well. It acts as a common bridge between those other communities, opening up both sides to share traffic based on familiarity with certain members, the same way I did when I joined this forum because I knew Buddhacrane from another forum.
