Ive been building a map since the legendary pack was released, you may have even seen a beta version. I've spent the last 40 hrs completely rebuilding my map using interlocking and color coded levetating crates now that I know how to. When a friend joins my party and tells me you dont have any money left how are you going to place scenery? Then he continues to tell me that I should have used the money glitch. Now firstly I dont even know what this is, but from what I understand you can place all of the items at your disposale with out having to worry about the budget. Is this true? And if so can it harm my map or cause lag during games or have any other ill effects? Secondly if I do figure out how to do it and do. Will my map get banned from forge hub and Bnet, or even worse cause me to get black listed. Ive been working so hard on it for over a month with every moment of spare time I have. And really feel the final version has a possiblity of being featured here and even could maybe be a future bungie fav. So I dont want to do any thing that could put it in jeopardy. At the same time I am willing to tear it down one last time and rebuild it, if it means I can properly complete my vision with no strings attached! What should I do?
Why would it not be an acceptable practice? It's fine, don't worry about it. If someone on B.Net tells you that you'll be banned for it, post it here, and we'll corner him. If someone here tells you you'll be banned, then they're retarded.
One of our Premium members discovered it. Of course we wouldn't frown upon it, and neither does bungie. It's just another cool thing like interlocking or merging.
In fact, the majority of people here who post maps use the money glitch. I am assuming. Bungie.net just made a POST that clearly states that they do not look down upon money maps, interlocking, or merging. The only no-no is modding. Dont mod and ur alright (if you don't know what modding is, then dont even worry about it)
OKay, I thought bungie didnt like the money glitch. I guess I was wrong. That's good news. But I'm pretty sure someone doesnt like the money glitch, maybe its MLG? THe money glitch allows maps to be more aesthetically pleasing, to be able to place cones and barrels and stuff and it allows a lot more pointless interlocking. Also its better to use the money glitch if you want to make a map more vehicle oriented because vehicles eat through the budget.
Well, money glitched maps are sometimes, uh, glitchy. I've seen graphics errors like all of the scenery strobing on money glitched maps. Also they're much harder to build. You can't delete objects, you need to keep the non-useful objects out of the way, and god help you if you don't think you'll need an object and want it later. Also, NeXn's first featured map was Chill Out! v3.
I've seen those errors as well, with the colours on every object dancing but only when I'm in forge. I dont think it happens during custom games, but I'm not 100% sure. ANyway most maps made with the money glitch are very planned out. I have only posted 1 money glitch map, my attempt at a Foundation remake(notice how I didnt make that a link to the thread. No advertising, go me). I find it much easier making normal maps (w/o money glitch), I can make maps with the FMGC but I need to be able to press Y. Also a few times this has happened to me, I go to run-time maximum accidentally instead of minimum and I set it to as low as it'll go and lose all of the double boxes and then I have to quit and then I've lost my progress. Anyway, got nothing against Money Glitch, just dont use it that much and I dont see a good enough reason for MLG to boycott it. But I can always change my mind.
1) Is your map infection? If not your alright 2) Anything that is posted here is acceptable (See: Forge 101). People on bungie don't know anything bout forging. Anyone check out some those favorites that were recently update? Terrible. Well, at least Coliseum 24 was lol (uhh, roll eye face)
