And as you can probably tell, this will be a Flood map affair. I was recently approached to take part in the judging of this contest, originally planned to be exclusive to 343. We wanted as many people possible to be in with a chance of winning the the incredible prizes on offer, so the contest has been extended to Forge Hub! Submission guidelines: The map must be a Free Roam Flood map forged on either Erosion, Impact, Ravine or Forge Island The map will be judged using the Hivemind game-type, found in the Flood matchmaking playlist The map must be suitable for 10-12 players The map must have a creation date on or after July 20th 2013 You are only allowed to submit one map You may forge with a partner, but keep in mind that only one prize will be issued You must tag the map file with 'DFO1' and have it in your File Share for the duration of the contest and judging You can download the original Hivemind game-type here (without overpowered last man standing settings); http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/g.../details/24b4b915-2767-4691-ba28-d517dd3ef86a Map Judging: Submissions will be judged on a 3 category system, with a maximum of 10 points from each category. Good question. You have until 11:59 EST August 31st to submit your maps. This will give you enough time to build your map, get some testing in, and make any changes where necessary to get it as good as it can be. As an avid member of BIOC, I can safely say that joining our lobbies will assist you greatly in improving your map. Testing lobbies will be scheduled for the course of the submissions period. You can find all the upcoming lobbies in this thread. Once you have perfected your creation, post it in the submissions thread. Awesome guys, I might have to think about making a map for this. It's been a while since I forged anything infection.
I'm afraid this means I cannot submit Far from Eden. Although I only really started working on the map half a month ago, the file itself was created way earlier.
I don't know if this would break the rules or not, but... Rebuild it? A pain in the rear, I know, but if you really want to submit it then it may be worth the effort.
nah, I'm too happy with the way it looks already and it would be rather difficult to rebuild, actually. I'll just submit another map, I guess. But thanks for the tip.
Haha, wait for it... Also, important question: Which version of Hivemind will you guys be using to judge? The one that is currently in Matchmaking with the ridiculous Last Man Standing traits, or the original one that can be found in Canadian Echo's fileshare?
But then you still have the ugly Lime Green skins for the Humans. Canadian Echo was the driving force behind Hivemind, the settings in his file are the original ones too just like Alzarahn's, except that skins have been fixed and that there are separate gamechat channels for zombies and humans. Maybe you can use that one instead. But it's your guys's call, of course. EDIT: Never mind. I see he updated it since the last time I checked his f'share. I'll use this one!
So, people in my Party are now complaining about the creation date, because on 343industries.org they don't mention anything about it. Same for when maps are due. What's the matter with that? I think it would be wise to either get rid of it as a whole, or provide the same information on both websites.
Please just get rid of the creation date requirement. I wanted to submit my Flood map but it doesn't fit the creation date requirement.
The point of this requirement is so all maps that are submitted are new maps created for the contest. It would be unfair if someone submitted a map that they made a long time ago that they know plays very well, while other people don't have a finished map ready to go and have to create something from scratch. We would just be testing all of the maps that we already know of, some that were created months ago and possibly some that are even in matchmaking. I'm sure you would rather see a pool of new maps than that. I'm sorry that your map was created before, but that is just how it goes. I recommend creating something new, built specifically for Hivemind.
Since the post was updated on 343i.org, some of the rules have disappeared. I have asked Donut to fix it. The rules shown in this thread still stand, for reasons I have explained in an earlier comment.
