Private activity adds nothing to site? I disagree. Private activity may not improve Forgehubs appearance to outside viewers but if it's something users want it makes users like the site better and want to be here which in return adds to the site, Happy users happy site. ExM's and Hubpub remove them and nothing has changed to outside viewer but active users will feel the loss.

 

I posted just above your post concerning the blogs, stating that regular users do not have access to said blogs.

 

The Hub Pub died a long time ago, dude. It died with Loyal.

 

Members who had a colored rank had access to a forum board called hub pub.

 

It was dead long before it was killed, nobody was posting in it anymore but it was cool in its early days.

 

Skype chat rooms made it obsolete.

 

Happy to see FH getting a reboot! I'm not gonna lie, I was gone for atleast six months and it looks like alot happend. Will someone please fill me in on the details?

Shock and TZ went missing. Staff got mad & tried to save the site without powers they needed. Then staff gets madder and quits. Owner of FH randomly puts site up for sale without telling anyone here. Ovr buys site & goes on short power trip infracting long time loyal staff members for disagreeing with him. People fought with all caps. Ovr straightens up & seems to be doing a good job now and is currently revamping the site.

Also, some guy says architects shouldn't have a colored rank recognition, I pulled a knife. Architects still have colored ranks and CT's.

That is all.

 

Not to mention everythings been consolidated into fewer forums with the intention of focusing on prefixes and pushing members towards more important threads, like forge maps and stuff.

Bloo became batman, nibbs aborts cat fetuses, and jacket's recent GnA competition went sour . We have lots of new staff (and are a little unsure of their commitments). Time will tell.. so basically we're waiting for a miracle and/or halo 5's forge to be spectacular.

In the meantime, post content so people don't leave please :C

 

Don't forget that a lot of older members that fecked off to other communities (MLG/THC/BE/FC) have started to come back here because of the staff turn over.

And on a positive note, despite being friends with the new staff, I'm still racking up infractions for being an all 'round ***. Just throwing that out there. These guys aren't biased.

 

Probably also has a lot to do with those communities and websites being dead.

Take your personal quarrels elsewhere, fellas. Whether it needs to be stated or not, this isn't the appropriate place to express your disdain for one another.

 

The point is more about the site than about my personal feelings toward Schnitzel or anyone else. In fact, "feelings" really don't enter into it. I'm not mad at anybody right this moment. I'm not mad at the site, either. I spend a lot less time here than I used to, and the amount dwindles every day (for a lot of reasons, many of which have nothing to do with who owns it or how it's being run). But I've been here a long, long time, seen a lot of staff and regular members come and go, seen minor and major regime changes, been on staff myself. I do have some thoughts on what works and what doesn't in keeping Forge Hub alive. I do like to weigh in occasionally. And I feel like a lot of the people bickering lately can't see the forest, to use an old expression, because they're kind of obsessed with trees - and not the cool Forge Island kind.

 

New front page feedback:

I vote too much white/blank space and the shadow seems a little heavy. It feels like I'm looking at my grandma's monitor with huge text and huge pictures, if that makes sense?

I've always been told, (many times on this site) if it makes your eyes bleed, you've taken a wrong turn or two somewhere. (too much white. I'd inverse the scale to make it fit in, and with a few adjustments it should work.)

The minimalist theme, which is poorly done here, is super conflicting with the forum theme. The banner looks like crap, tone down the Gaussian blurring behind it. The Monitor needs outlining to fit in with the rest of the text, and the gradient white to grey is poorly done.
Otherwise, it looks great. Well functioning slides, good design.

 

Both these suggestions are known about and will be addressed.

 

So is anything on the To-Do list ever going to get done? I haven't really seen any changes, but I could be wrong.
