Yeh, i'd just have to re-render the videos and take out "TheHaloCouncil" And no problem for the heads up!
Oli and Spin are talking about the THC map pack that was still being put together at the time the site was taken down. I know that Warholic played a huge part in it, so we'll have to talk things out.
It's also finished, if that is worth knowing. And if possible, could I be added to these discussions with War, given how we may potentially end up doing things and I would need a say on that? Otherwise, I have been noticing active users increasing a bit lately. Nice one ovR
No idea. I actually just found out about the pack today I think. or I forgot about it. Point is, I don't know.
Any idea if the blogs section will go up anytime soon or what the plan is for that? Not like it's a crucial asset or anything, just wondering as it used to be a pretty thriving place before the last update when Kajin was around hit. Still not quite sure why it stopped so quickly
It's still there, click on the "127" next to "Blog Entries" in your profile information and it will take you to your blogs. I agree that I miss the link and the useful integration into the forum which showed most recent blogs.
...that's how many blog entries he has. I was pointing out to noxi how to view his blogs. For you it would be 35.
Notice how there is no access for regular users. Which means they still exist, we just don't get them. http://puu.sh/3EOSW.png
Hmm...I remember seeing them before I was staff though. I suppose the blog page could have placed under a permissions wall but then that's recent.
The blog section was removed b/c it detracted traffic from the public forums into a private one. Anyone that wants to blog can do so in the off topic section of the forums. A new sub forum section can even be created for blogs only that way not only does blogging come back but since it is on a public space, everyone's blog will have more traffic to it which in turn makes it more worthwhile for bloggers.
I really don't think that's true. First of all, a thread is not a blog. Second, since the blogs are hosted here it does bring traffic to the site. You said that like blogs and the forum are two different entities that don't effect each other. The purpose of a blog is a space to share your thoughts or experiences in a more meaningful way than what is possible within a forum thread. It's also a completely optional feature that does 0 harm to anything. The only angle against it that I can see is that it's another thing that would have to be moderated against rule breaking conduct which we can debate if that's acceptable or not but site traffic is a bogus, unfounded, excuse.
A blog is nothing but a glorified thread. It is the exact same thing in concept and function as a thread. People respond with posts and a discussion may take place. Either they post in public forum sections or in their own private little corner. It is in the best interest of the site to have as much activity in the public sector otherwise, any private activity means nothing and adds nothing to the site.
