Crash Site is a Last Stand Flood map. The map itself is divided in two asymetrical sections by the crashed plane in the center of the map. The survivors of the crash have to hold the center area from the flood that comes from both sides of the plane. The standard game type is Last stand and this map is NOT compatible with other flood gametypes. Since it's my first post and also one of my first completed map, I'd like you to leave any comments or suggestion about the map. Also, if you happen to play on it, please give me a feed back so I can fix any problems you may encounter. EDIT: Here's the download link for the fixed version: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/...&details=5bb47dbf-8451-485a-a11a-fc18c3e2e78e Note: English is not my first language. Sorry for any inconvenience in the understanding
Wow, this is definitely one of the better crash-site style maps I have seen and the most unique map I have seen made for it Last Stand; most tend to be some kind of building. I'll be playing this in my next lobby and hopefully be return with my thoughts.
Little note: I've fixed an issue where the players could climb up the shelter on pic 4. I'll be renaming the map Crash site 2. Sorry for the inconvenience
This looks great! But can you also put up some pictures of gameplay? That way I can get a better look at where the humans will be located and how they have to defend themselves.
I played this last night. It was great fun although I have a few problems. First and foremost, the map was still escapable. I will work on getting you screenshots or footage of how players escaped. The tail end section of the plane was way to powerful. The survivors could see over the stone wall and kill the Flood before they could reach the holdout. You want to avoid this at all costs. Maybe add some trees to block the sightlines from that elevated position? You could also add a teleporter for the Flood to take them ontop of the tail end and nose end of the plane. I also think that the Flood should have a greater range of places to spawn. They only spawned at one side of the map which made gameplay a bit predictable and repetitive. The teleporters would help this but it wouldn't hurt to add spawns on the other side of the plane.
It is a long straight area with two portions of the plane to holdout in at either end. They can also go behind the tail end and holdout right against the cliff edge.
Thank you for your comments! I'll try to fix these problems as soon as possible. As for the nam problem, I renamed crash site because it when you make a custom search with tags crash site still appears even though it is deleted from my fileshare. That's the reason I renamed it Sorry for all the bugs. I've been able to test it only twice with only 5 players and 2 players. I think there's a section in the forums where you can organise custom games? I'll test them more before postin them online
REMkings, myself and a few other Flood forgers run a Flood-only custom game group called BIOC. This was my source of testing for this map. Our lobbies consistently get 12+ attendees, it would be very beneficial for you to join one and test your map more. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/custom-games/145443-bloodthirst-infection-only-customs.html
I'm glad you're taking Elliot's feedback in account IrontMesdents! It's always good to see people working on improving the little things up to the point where it results in a great map to play on!
So I've fixed the issues mentionned by Elliot and it resulted in this: First, I added multiple spawn points on the map. I hope this will fix the problem where players spawned only on one side of the map. Also, I've added multiple ramps that blocks the view of the survivor and permits the zombies to get on top of the plane a lot more easier. I didn't add teleporters on the map because I find that they are a bit off context if placed on this type of map. Pics are here: So here we can see I've added 2 sections: The ramp on the left and the debris on the right. The debris will serve as line blockers and makes that area a bit "crashy" The ramp leads to the top of the plane and to the hole on it's side This how the view looks like now it's blocked by the debris On the other side of the plane, I've just raised the walls to block the view Here's the view of the raised wall and of the debris And another general view of the ramp side I did NOT change the map in my fileshare because i'm still waiting for screenshots of the areas that the players could get out of the map and I prefer to finish it completly before reposting.
Nice work! I'll definitely be testing it out in my next BIOC lobby! Oh poop, those screenshots. I'll see if I can get them too you soon.
