There's a difference between people knowing you and knowing of you. I know many people here through various experiences with them on the forums and off the forums. But I know of most of the frequent forum-base, including you.
I still lurk from time to time and I have to say that I'm also hopping into Adelyss's boat. This site was my home once, but I don't really know that it holds the same place to me anymore. I don't recognize half the staff now days, most of the members I know and love have packed up and left. There is a large group of people on this site to which the name TrueDarkFusion holds no meaning and that makes me sad. Similarly, there are few people now on this site left of my previous friends from here who would recognize my name and I don't get enough joy out of Halo anymore to make it feel like it would be worth my time to make new friends. Perhaps of halo somehow makes a comeback one day, then I will return, but for now, this is an official goodbye. I will still lurk as I did before, but I felt some proper closure was needed. Good luck to you all! -Crypto
I know you're discussing your own opinion, which is great, but why is not knowing the staff and several members here a bad thing? If you cared at all you could get to know us. However, if Halo doesn't make you interested enough to stick around, that's the problem, not the new faces. I'm just not getting what was so perfect about old members as opposed to the new frequent members. I don't think we're all that different, likely the haze of nostalgia is about you. I'm just saying that if you don't want to come here, that's your choice and a perfectly fine one. I just don't think you should chalk it up to not knowing people. Things change, that's how life works. If Forgehub had stayed exactly as it was, I'd like to think it would be an incredibly dull place. If you were interested in Forgehub or Halo at all, I would assume you have the potential to simply learn the new faces. Just my thoughts on that matter.
He's a CC atm, he was just recently testing maps for a SWAT task. edit lolwut, where'd that post I quoted go?
The problem is that the site DID change and now it IS an incredibly dull place. I'd like to get to know the lot of you, I really would, but what's the point if I'll never play with any of you? I can't do anything in the Halo based forums since I have no fun with the game anymore. I don't hate the site because I don't know anyone, I've just realized like many others that the site is a ghost of its former self; a hollowed out empty shell, beginning to crumble. I'm not blaming anyone in particular, there were many contributing factors that lead to its current state. If Halo 5 is any better than 4 and on a level near Halo 3 than that will give the site the ability to refill that empty shell and once again be the great place it once was. I do care about Forge Hub, that's why I still lurk and will continue to do so until the it rises from the ashes that is Halo 4.
That's kind of what I was trying to say. The way you had said the previous post made it sound like you didn't like it here so much because of new members and a new image. I was just trying to clarify basically everything you mention here.
Uh guys, important thing to note. THC has shut down. I feel like it would be worth contacting them with the aim of directing people over to us in order to help at least 1 halo community thrive.
Yes. oVR got like... all THC staffers in skype. I left because nothing was happening but banter, but it was happening for sure.
Nexy is selling, even a good part of the staff didn't know and learned about it on twitter. Anyways, Molly has the site up on archive although she says that it will not be up forever. Don't let this be MLG forums v2, grab stuff you think is worth saving and archive it. The more the better. There were a lot of resources on that site that will be sorely missed.. Also, as for the THC chat thing, it wasn't just staff, and of course it was banter, the reason the chat was created was 90% banter + 10% talking settings. We're kinda stranded for now but the general opinion seems to favor moving here over moving to Beyond. Time will tell what will happen.. In other news, Schnitzel got banned from Beyond. Only temporary, though
I'd also advise speaking to Warholic at some point in the near future. He was responsible for organising forge feature trailers for the frontpage, something I worked on. I also have 2 videos ready to put up onto the home page, so if you were to clear it through him, and get the original authors to post their maps over here, then i'd be happy to give FH those two videos for feature.
Show Groups - Forge Hub Warholic is a mod, Oli. I wasn't aware of his unmade features. We'll have to have a chat with him. Thanks for the heads up.
