Carbon(v1)ByDG Intensity Carbon is an asymmetrical map designed for 2v2 and potentially 4v4 gameplay as well as FFA. Carbon has tons of jump ups to different areas of the map as well as a teleporter that brings you to one of the tallest areas on the map. This map is aesthetically pleasing while still delivering a nice and balanced 2v2 match. Each team has their own base that are somewhat symmetrical as well as a power position. The main power position on the map is the sniper spawn, it is the tallest area on the map and has the largest field of view but is also quite vulnerable. While this map is noticeably asymmetrical each side has asymmetrical traits which makes this map very easy to learn. Carbon is set up for every gametype excluding extraction, flood and dominion but has only been tested with a small FFA and a 2v2 both of which played well. It has yet to be played with 4v4 or any objective gametype so I can't recommend a specific gametype yet.DL:Carbon v1: http://www.halowaypo...08-60e846dcc4c1Carbon FFA (same but without power weapons): http://www.halowaypo...36-e7bd4b2f5dc4Weapons on Map: Battle Rifle x5DMR x2Sniper x1 (excluding FFA version)Overshield x1 (excluding FFA version)Frag Grenade x4Needler x1Boltshot x1 Screenshots: Thanks for checking out the post, any all feedback/ concerns etc. is appreciated.
Gotta love Ravine's palette. This thing looks sexy as hell. This is all initial impressions based solely on the screenshots, but I really like the design and the layout you've got going here. Nice height variations and jump-ups, good routes to move around the map. Thumbs up from me. (b'')b
Thanks a lot man, I wanted to design a map that was athletically pleasing but at the same time play well. There are still some areas on the map (around the edges mainly) that I am not entirely satisfied with yet but i'm sure that with time and testing it should become better. Thanks for the reply dude.
So I'd be interested in what makes a map "chewy". I'd love to get a game on this at some point with you. Hit me up on xbox some time. I cant find any glaring issues in the screenshots, though I'm not sure how the area in img 3 ties in. Looks like that back area could potentially be campable? Hard to say for sure. Also, for those of us who haven't seen it in game yet, any chance of a overview?
The image in pic 3 is one of the bases and doesn't normally get camped in too much and I cant put an overview because it is too close to ravine barrier. I will send your GT an invite next time i'm testing it
I must say, this makes me wish my Halo 4 disc WASN'T broken, and few things are able to do that these days... Solid 10/10 for aesthetics. Could we get an overview though? Possibly a labeled one showing the spawns of the powerweapons and their timers? I notice the OS but I'm curious as to where the snipers spawn and how fast. Anyway, looks fantastic. Wish I could play it... *Curses his broken Halo 4 disc and the horrific Reach pallet*
To chew or not to chew. That is the question! Or is it? The real question my friends should be rather how much to chew or for how long shall one chew. There are 3 main variables that come in to play when deciding how Chewy a map truly is: Texture of the substance being chewed, flavor of said chew, and longevity of the desirability of the said chew. To obtain the perfect Chew is almost as rare as the chupacabra himself but it can be done, granted all these variables are achieved. Now what you see in front of you this very moment is a map. Not just a map; a masterpiece. The Chew is divine.
This looks very impressive. I hope to get some games in on it. I would like to add you to my friends list. I think you are the type of forger I can learn from.
Unfortunately I cannot post a direct overview of the map because it is too close to the ravine barrier but I can take a screenshot showing most of the map and label it. LMAO soldier wtf! Thanks man I will send you a friend request when I get on xbox live tonight.
I downloaded this one today and have already added it to my "play with everyone I can find" playlist! This map is worthy of a FHF if they ever get back to really doing that, until then, you have my vote! I really love this map!
Thanks man i'm glad you like it, if you ever get some testing on it please let me know how the games play, i'm always looking for ways to improve my maps
Carbon v2 is now in my fileshare. Changes include: - aesthetic upgrades - Addition of the extraction gametype - Extraction cylindres to help with map callouts - Small structural changes DL: File Browser Halo Official Site
I haven't played the map yet so I cant say much to say except that it looks great and has good asymmetrical map layout. The only thing I would change as of right now is to change the colors so u can make better call outs and easier to know your location.
