Like many have said, looks (in 99% of cases) have jack-all to do with interaction with females. I'm basically ugly as ****, and I've been with my partner, now fiance, for six years. We're not engaged because I look like Brad Pitt, I can tell you that...

Anyway, it's usually only the extremely superficial ones that will be with a guy because of the way he looks, and no matter how attractive those girls are, they aren't worth being with because of said superficiality. They're better left for one-nighters, and even then they're pretty disappointing.

Honestly, man, from the conversations I've had with you and the way you handle yourself on this forum, you should have no trouble with the ladies. You seem pretty confident in yourself and you've obviously got a brain about you, so I don't know why you would be in this conundrum. There could be other contributing factors that I'm unaware of, though. In either case, good luck, dude.

Anyway, my frustration for the day is I grabbed a choc-mint flavoured milk to have with lunch on my way home from work today, and I noticed the price had been dramatically reduced for a "quick sale". I saw the use-by date was June 27th. Today is the 28th. I figured it couldn't be bad, so I bought it and it tasted fine. Now I'm having acid reflux and I believe it has something to do with this cheap beverage. All I can taste at the moment is ham and turkey sub mixed with minty chocolate. :S

My crush rejected me today and stated the painful words that she "just wanted to stay friends". :(

    I was going to elaborate:
I'm pretty awkward around teh females and I'm not that great looking, so it's kind of a combination. Doesn't help that I'm not the party guy type, rather watch a good movie, play a game, etc than go out. Yeah, I'm not really complaining there, it's just a fact at least for the time being, hopefully I'll find someone who's more introverted like myself, or else I'll become more "outgoing" as some view it..

REM, that stinks.. a decent way to rationalize things in this instance is to think why would I date someone who sucks at recognizing pure greatness. Keep it real modest :p

I'm exactly that type of guy, too. I guess you could call me one of the "nice guys". Girls don't fall for nice guys though, they want someone dominant, funny and relaxed combined with good looks. When I feel really good and confident, I can be such a guy too, but I haven't been when I was around her. Over the course of the year she must've concluded I cannot be such a guy and therefore only wants to stay friends. Maybe, just maybe I might win her over eventually, but I'd have to become more outgoing and just show her I can be her man. For now, friends is good.

And haha, that might help. Thing is, this girl is as close to perfection as you can get. She isn't just hot but also intelligent and funny, and she has the cutest smile. Plus, she actually has a really good taste in movies.

Sounds like you have a case of "oneitis".

Nobody in the world is perfect and as long as you keep thinking that she is you will never get anywhere with her.

    Keep that in mind.

Been there done that. I ended up putting a girl on a pedestal and when she did something I didn't agree with I rationalized it as being my fault, and when I did anything wrong I ended up beating myself up for it. Afterward I realized that people aren't inherently good, including women even if they're great looking. Just gotta treat a girl you like like a good friend, with some romance every so often. Can't act unnatural I've realized, but for me that's really hard to do still since I'm awkward even around friends, at least sometimes.

I know these things. And I'm trying to work on it. I too am socially awkward at times even though I recognize my talents and know that I'm a nice guy. But you can work on that by simply meeting people and reaching out. Last year I've felt depressed a lot and in my opinion it has given this girl, among many others, a wrong impression of me. That's why I'm getting friendzoned rather than being her love interest. I thought there was a spark going on between us when I first met her but I never took things to the next level until now, because I was a ***** at first and later on because I felt depressed and not in the mood like I said.
This Friday she's coming over to my place, we're going to watch Pulp Fiction together. When I called her to arrange the time last Friday, she made it clear that this was going to be a friends thing and that there cannot be anything more than just friendship between us.
Anyway, obviously I was heart broken but there's a positive side too. It was a wake-up call for me. Although she mentioned the friends thing herself, she wasn't even sure what my intentions actually were! That shows I have not shown her to the fullest that I actually liked her whatsoever. I now know more than ever to try and feel relaxed when I'm around girls I like, because giving off the shy, nice guy impression only makes it hard on them to fall in love with me. Don't get me wrong, I'll remain who I am - although I'm still actually trying to figure out my identitiy in the first place, but that's a different story - but in the future (as of now) I'll try to just take things easy when I'm around with her and not to care about every single frigging word I utter. Thing is, girls care about everything you do, and forcing yourself into a specific position only makes it harder to do things right. From now on, I will try to always be myself and don't give a dang about what other people may think. Maybe this girl and I could get together at some point, maybe we'll stay friends forever. I like her too much to give up on this, especially since she really is an interesting person and not just hot. But for now, we cannot be more than friends. I will just ask her to give me the time to get my sh*t together and don't look differently at me now that she knows I have feelings for her.
And for the record: I'm not saying she's 100% perfect, I'm just stating she has been the greatest girl I've ever come across in my life so far and I already pictured myself getting together with her and possibly getting married at some point. (I know, it's silly, but believe me: you'd understand if you were me and knew her.) She would/could be perfect for me. But I won't get stuck on her forever if eventually it simply doesn't work out anyway. That would only make me feel deeply unhappy.

That I get sick as soon as I get back from a 10 day trip on the east coast. Especially when I made plans to go over to a girl's house and get plastered. Not sure if I want to go tonight, but she might give me a free handle and will definitely get a bj, maybe sex.

My parents can be hardasses sometimes. They basically hate any videogame that ever existed, so I never feel relaxed if I'm playing a game and my dad's in the next room or something. My dad's threatened to give away my xbox at least 5 times. They ALWAYS ask me questions or bring up some topic of conversation while I'm on my computer or busy with something. Yet if I do that to them then they'll basically just ignore me because they're doing work or their hobby or w/e. Apparently I don't have work or hobbies so they can interrupt me whenever they want. Nice how that works.

Also: I was going to go to summerfest but it didn't work out for a number of reasons. To make a long story short: I have virtually no work schedule or family schedule so things come up with little to no prior notice.
