OMG I would love to see Viewtiful Joe. I takeback any previous statements about favs, Joe would be my alltime fav. Henshin a go-go, baby!
Sorry for the bump, can anybody explain PS+ to me. The way i understand it is that it is like xbox live gold where you need it to play online. For example i download planetside 2(free to play) on PS4 do i need to pay the $60 a year to play online(by extention, play the game)?
I read in an article that you will be able to play free-to-play titles on Playstation 4 without a PS+ subscription. That includes games like Planetside 2, along with other titles. With PS+, you get a bundle of games, free games that vary by the month, access to multiplayer in games like Killzone that require servers and other cool perks. Basically, it makes Xbox Live look like they're cheating you, if you want to compare the two. For $5 a month, it's worth it in my opinion. /notasalesperson
PS+ is now the same as Live thanks to the paywall, and the "free" games are only free until you stop your subscription. This makes it akin to Gamefly but without being able to choose your games. Though we don't know the details of the online infrastructure of the One or PS4, it's not crazy to assume Live will be more robust than PSN if the current gen is any indication.
Drive Club is going to be free for PS+ members at the launch of PS4. Just wanted to say that, since X1 has nothing of note going free at launch.
Not sure what that last comment meant. Free on Xbox One? I believe some free to play games were announced at E3 (that tanks game for one), and 2 games every month (including the launch month) will be free on xbox live.
yes it was directed at the X1, and since you cant even name much anything free for it, it only verifies my statement that nothing of note is going to be free for it at launch. Sure, something might be free, but its probably just World of Tanks.
...I just did name something. Because you don't think World of Tanks is noteworthy doesn't mean others don't. God damn, the self aggrandizing viewpoints I'm seeing from people. But fine if you're going to make me use the internet here to use real research instead of talking from one's ass, here's what 10 seconds of googling got me. Killer Instinct is free-to-play - Xbox One News at GameSpot Killer Instinct and Project Spark free-to-play on Xbox One | GamesRadar That's, Killer Instinct, Project Spark, and World of Tanks. Three games, Killer Instinct has a massive following, Project Spark was one of the most intriguing games announced (and fits our general "user created content" theme this forum was founded on, and World of Tanks has a pretty large PC following. I'm not doing this to support Microsoft in any way, I'm saying this information because you're saying absolute bull crap. Just because you might not personally care for any of those games doesn't mean they don't exist. And you also ignored the "free games released via xbox live" bit. It's not Xbone content, but it still is free games.
you failed to name it outright without going to look it up, that is my point. Nothing was good enough that you remember it flat out. As another point, World of Tanks is a F2P mmo, Killer Instinct is only free if you want just Jago to play as, and Project Spark... Project Spark is the closest thing to a full game. Drive Club is an actual game, one that you otherwise would have to pay money for, and you get it completely free with PS+ on launch. And yes, you make a valid point that someone somewhere probably does think one of those titles is noteworthy, but that wasnt my intial point at all and this is all becoming tangential. Tldr; PS+ gives you a full game for free at launch of PS4, XBL gold gives you nothing extra but the priviledge to play online (At launch) EDIT: I forgot to mention that PS4 is launching with 4 F2P games excluding Drive Club. They are: Planetside 2, DC Universe Online, Blacklight: Retribution, and Warframe. All of which are fully playable online without PS+, unlike the X1 which you will need to pay for Gold in order to play those F2P games that it happens to launch with. Don't take this as me brazenly shoving it in the face of people interested in an X1, I merely wanted to inform them of something they may not have noticed from E3 since it was touched on only briefly.
I always wanted to play those games, but I do not have a great PC. So it is awesome to hear that those are coming to PS4 for free. That's some plus points on the PS4 list.
Blacklight is cool but i'm sure all of those games are f2p model because they sell game time or game currency for money. You won't have to pay anything but at the same time you'll get shat on by people who decided to do so to get the best gear.
A limited version of Drive Club.* It's popular in f2p games now that you get mostly cosmetic upgrades when you pay. I'm not saying it won't happen but game companies have tried really hard to get away from that kind of design in my opinion. Pay-to-win is never fun and I think they're starting to realize that.
So.. Pay to win? Furry just said the things I agree with, it is best if you can only pay for cosmetic items. Paying for new weapons still happens though, but I don't know if these games have that. This happens with F2P games, and you can expect that, how else can a bit (extra) profit be made?
To clarify, the free version of Drive Club is a sort of "prologue" version with a select number of cars and tracks. This is similar to what KI is doing; as I said before, PSN will be much more like Live this time around in terms of what you pay for.
I'd say Project Spark is more than a full game. You will be able to play countless user created games all in one, plus make you own.
My apologies, I must have missed it when they said it was a limited version of the game. That said, I would rather play it than Project Spark still, if only for making Fight Club references like "First rule of Drive Club, you do not talk about Drive Club."
