Ok, so I will put this here since it seems to be the best way to get questions answered. To all of you Flood map makers, REM, Elliot and Pa1nts to name a few, I was looking at the maps you have made, trying to figure out how you make certain things work the way they do since we no longer have the ability to open doors in Halo 4 Forge like we did in Reach.

I have a door that has a Dominion shield inside of it. I want the door to open by blowing the shield with a fusion coil. I placed a fusion coil up above the door on the other side, so that when it drops it blows the shield, and set the spawn timer to 30, but it never spawned. I know I have set it to normal, so that it does not just hang in mid air, but nothing ever happens. Any thoughts?

Make sure that you have set the fusion coil to not spawn at start. Also, don't destroy it in Forge, it will not respawn and not spawn at all in a custom game. It effectively deletes it when you destroy it in Forge.

Another thing to note, place a shield door in front of the Dom shield or players will be able to punch through it and progress before the fusion coil explodes.

Ok, do not make it spawn at start. Got it. Now, how the hell do you make it normal in Forge, and not destroy it?

Edit: I did place a shield door in front of the Dominion shield to prevent them from destroying it before it was time, I figured that one out already, thanks Elliot!

Place it in the air on fixed. Then without grabbing hold of it change it to normal and save.

Ahh, thats what I have been doing wrong, dammit. Next question: I noticed that when I setup stuff to time out, and I run through it in Forge to make sure it works right, the next round, none of the items are where I placed them. Any thoughts on this?

Edit: The last question might very well be the answer to this one.

ok, new question: I have a trait zone that works for the Spartans, but not for the flood. Has anyone had this problem, and how do I fix it?

The team of the trait zone is probably set to "Defenders". Make sure it's set on the default setting, so it will work for all teams, including the Red team / Defenders (Humans) and Blue team / Attackers :viral:.

I have gone back and checked it, twice. It is set to default, which is neutral, and the flood can not jump inside it, however the humans can.
Edit: When I am in forge mode, the attackers ( blue) can use the trait zone, it is only when I am in a custom game that the attackers with the flood skins on when it does not work.

So, I just learned something new on evachalo\webs.com that I have already experienced, trait zones do not work on Flood when the trait zone is set to neutral or defender, defender is obvious but neutral suggests that the Flood can use it as well. In order to have a trait zone that works for the flood, it has to be set for attacker, and then it will not work for the defenders. Makes sense in some strange 343i/CA way.

I did not know that. But that's good information for me since I'm trying to decide whether or not to make my first flood map.

Well, I took that trait zone out, and replaced it with two gravity volumes and achieved the same goal, it just looks different to me.
