On Halo:Reach, my friend "M3H L0V3 P13" created many unique inventions. He came back on Halo 4 and wanted me to showcase this awesome invention!

Check out Halo 4's tallest (working) Super Elevator!

for some reason (maybe cuz I'm at work) the video kept crapping out on me. Oh, now I see. It actually does use a floor. How did he get it to be stable and not wobble around as you sit on it? I invented something similar with no moving floor (because it was instable) for my map LaForge and was previewed several months ago...

Just sayin' But his design definitely shows the limits of how big it can be, and of course FOrge Island is taller than Impact, so Kudos for pushing the limits!

Um.. it only goes down? Not really "working," then, right?

Good point, but it is mainly just for entertainment---even if it could go up, it would be a longgggggg video. lol

check out "LaForge" in my sig... it doesn't have an elevator floor, just a lift initiated by your jump. but it's a pretty advanced design that took dozens of hours of tweaking. DL that map and jump around in it :D

so, I've taken the challenge of making a true "working" elevator that functions in both directions. It is based on the shorter lift design in LaForge, taken to the absolute extreme that forge (unmodded) will allow.

I'll be adding to my fileshare later today, and if you would like to make a video out of it, that would be appreciated.

I don't think it's as tall as the one in your first vid, but can't be made taller given the forge limits for making this a two-way elevator that has a soft landing too.

It behaves like a typical elevator in that it starts off slow but speeds up as it goes and then slows down at either end to give the user a soft landing.

I'm trying to think of a cool gametype for this, but am stumped so far...

UPDATE: Added film & map to fileshare. Go check it out! It's a good example of how to push the limits of forge. As is often the case, there is JUSt barely enough to do what you want within the limits.

for instance, miraculously, the tallest elevator you can make with trait zones and mancannons equates to the height that is just barely short enough to allow you to make a soft-landing for the down side of the elevator using the grav volumes and one-way shields to arrest the momentum from the fall. Weird how it works out like that, huh?

sure, load it up in Forge and study how I made it, and a scaled down version would probably work for the lift in Ivory tower. Yyou could even make it go up one level at a time by applying some critical thinking ;)
