I'm starting to wonder how I ever liked the dub voices for anything. It seems like it is time for my annual rewatching of FMA:Brotherhood

Only two series I actually prefer dubbed thus far are Spice & Wolf and Baccano. The rest are meh. I've been hearing good stuff about the Fate dub, though.

I liked Haruhi dubbed...I also watched angel beats dubbed because I had trouble getting the subbed version to work(I liked subbed better) apart from Haruhi and spice and wolf I've yet to see any others I liked better dubbed.

I don't know why, but Rosario + Vampire is a bit better dubbed, but other than that, subs for everything.

I would love to see a good dub for Black Rock Shooter. I absolutely loved that anime. FMA had some pretty good dubs from what I remember on Adult Swim, and I actually did kind of liked the dubbed version of Haruhi although I watched the majority of the show subbed.

I watch all of my anime dubbed. There were some shows when I first saw them, that I watched subbed. The first shows that I watched dubbed were Robotech, Speed Racer, Voltron, Star Blazers, and G-Force(Battle of the planets). The classics.

I've heard about a BRS dub but not seen anything about it recently. Some shows get an extra dimension when they get a dubbed series and it kinda helps to understand the story a bit more, hence why I'm watching clannad dubbed.

so, I have another one of those music predicaments. Do you guys recognize this part of the song from an anime? That little five second portion to be specific. It sounds incredibly familar.

should the anime have a ton of dialogue, you don't have to worry about missing bits of the animation while reading the subs either. Honestly, I would settle for a good fandub of BRS. I just want to watch that anime in English, lol.

Just bought and watched Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I.

Gotta say I like the direction they have gone with the animation though it could still be better. The original series was standard animation mixed in with coloured stills lifted directly from the manga so it was good for the time but didn't quite catch the dark tone the manga had. This new version uses CG animation for a lot of it a bit like the second to last Appleseed movie remake. (not Ex-Machina, the one before that) with traditional animation for the more slower paced moments. It's a bit jarring at the moment though wich is why there can be improvements.

Other than that they seem to be going the Evangelion/Hellsing Ultimate route. Though since the original series stuck fairly close to the manga they can't relly improve that, what they have done is streamlined it a bit. Keeping only scenes that directly influence things that happen later. Kinda kills character development a bit but they might be fixing that in the next one.

So far they are going up to the great eclipse with these wich will be covered in The Golden Age Arc III, which is about as far as the original series went as well but this one doesn't have the present time foreshadowing at the start.

Worth a watch if your into more serious anime instead of the constant 12 year old girl panties this thread seems to love so much.

Join ussssssssssssssssss. Yeah, I don't constantly watch it because of the panties, I like comedy/romance anime and that's usually the genre that kind of stuff appears in.

The third berserk movie should be out by now, shouldnt it? Im gonna go look, I need something morbid and depressing to watch. Anyone new to berserk should note these are "golden age" movies, meaning that the ensuing dark age is absolutely brutal (like the manga). I actually read somewhere that they kinda want to do more than just these three movies, which would be amazing since the dark age parts are some of the most interesting dark fantasy I can think of immediately.

Also, whoever is watching Sword art online... dont watch the dub. Just dont.

Don't know about states side but down here in NZ we only have the first movie. Second movie doesn't even have a release date yet.

And yea the third movie is slated to be some of the darkest and most disturbing stuff in anime. but not for just straight gore or anything like that. Yea there is a lot of it as it's centered around the great eclipse and the god hand that was the last few episode of the original series, but they toe the line of being gruesome to convey a dark tone rather than being straight disgusting or so over the top to become funny, or so the review I read said. So very much looking forward to it.

I've even started reading the manga again since I didn't make it past Guts joining the Hawks the first time around.

Kinda glad that both versions of anime have forgone the Puck character. Already have enough borderline homoerotica and effeminate men in Griffith's character without adding an androgynous seeming naked pixie.
