*This is video footage of the very first test. The round system has been dumped due to switching sides between rounds breaks the maps color coordination.
This stadium is missing the upper hallways. I think it would serve the map well to add a hallway behind the wall at the top of the bleachers. You probobly don't have any budget left though. If you could somehow squeeze this in, i think it would really make this a great map.
I think you missed the main point of this map. The arena works just like a real life arena and players stay inside the designated play area. Keeping them in this area keeps the gametype played like it should and keeps the LoS from being too long. Plus it would be camp city on the bleachers. You can't even get on the roof of the bases. The game area size and layout was decided way before I built the stadium around it.
nah man no need for hallways, looks good the way it is. Too bad I hate two flag with a passion, but it does look like oddball could work nicely too.
I'm going to run it through TCOJ (5v5) on Tuesday and see if there is anything else that needs fixing. Then will release probably on Wednesday, April 17.
Honestly, this looks like a far better version of Lightning CTF from Action Sack. It's nice to see your creative side extending past urban competitive maps. I love the looks of the arena and the height variation looks like it will serve a lot of purpose in a map as small as this. You know where I am if you need a lobby member.
I'm not too sure about 150 movement speed (looked like you were ice skating in the video) but this does look like it'd be an interesting minigame. 120 is pretty slow without sprint, though. I see the Action Sack roots in this game as well
150 allows you to move quickly through the center, thrust farther, and keep the gameplay arena-style-fast but it does take away 'a little' from strafing. For this environment, I think 150 is very fitting and is actually slower than Lightning Flag which I believe is at 170/180%. Gravity is also turned up and helps counter the ice skating feel.
has anyone figured out how to do a classic assault gametype? I've been searching for one for a while... BTW, I really think the bleachers idea you came up with is pretty impressive.
Just do an grifball variant. My question for you Fenix is if it is modded to make it so you hold BR with the flag?
I'll answer that for him with his own words... Fenix, this looks great, as always. I'm sure a few hilarious CTF games will be played on this, and I'm looking forward to trying this out myself soon.
Lol Kaz I am an idiot thanks though. I hate to rush but hurry up and finish. This is the perfect kind of casual map my friends and I love.
I was about to say, ermahgerd banhammer modder modder modder!! But then I saw it was from Lightning CTF Well played sir. Canny wait to play this in TCOJ, it looks so original and like a nice break from standard competitive norms.
