Forge Island is available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace!

    Interesting Facts...
    • It takes 8 full Banshee boosts to get from the bottom of the map to the top of the map.
    • You can have a total of 50 trees (they are in the Natural category).
    • The biggest Rock in the Buildings category is about 75% the size of a Wall Coliseum.
    • You can Forge very slightly below the water.
    • The water is opaque - puzzle maps involving invisible water floors are possible.
    • It takes sixteen seconds to free fall from the very top to the very bottom of the map.
    • Window Coliseums and both Ramp Circulars appear in the Buildings category.

That's crap, Elliot... Well, now you have more time to plan out some maps!

I'll be updating the OP with interesting facts for those without access to it yet.

Three types of Rocks in the Natural category. One resembles a Rock Medium, the other two are flat and large - similar to the rocks on Harvest.

The other two Rocks are in the Buildings category. One is a large pillar, similar to the Seastack. The other resembles a Wall Coliseum, though is about 75% the size.

Is it free? I might start forging in Halo 4 then because 50 trees. If not I'll just wait for Halo 5 when they made a forge world/island map free from beginning.

Heck yes! That is so awesome to hear. Pictures made me guess they aren't as framerate troubling as they were on Ridgeline, and this is only adding to that! Wonderful news.

Again, great! This means I'll probably be able to finally build myself a specific map in Halo 4. :)

This is the best news ever. I may need to call out sick today!
What made them release early? Didn't they say it was supposed to come out on the 11th?

They said it was ahead of schedule. I'd guess it was done at PAX and they just said the 11th as a buffer, in case it wasn't available to be ready sooner.

Things noted straight away : 1. Those rocks, are awesome and one makes a perfect ramp 2. We can forge slightly above the water, and those rocks next to the water is a very interesting area. 3. Enough tree's to build a forest! IMO. 4. Green screen object, wut.

Explains a lot :p But if they wanted to support the machinima makers they should have adjusted the player movement.

Those tree's create a beautiful lighting effect... They wave with the wind, which you can hear breezing, just as the grass, it waves too. And you can also hear the water flowing. It awesome how close we can get to the water now, we can build a map on it and use it as scenery, it has a sort of mist effect above it. And the rocks look great.. Im going to sketch a map I had in thoughts right away, and build it. It seems it is going to work! Awesome this is.

I was under the impression every piece from the three forge environments would be included not just Ravines. Also they changed the colors. All the black pieces! Now everything is puke tan.

Oh well the good outweighs the bad I guess.
