Gameplay 15 minutes of gameplay. All I can say is that looks so unbelievably generic. Instead of showing us a fun, well paced piece of campaign we got HEY LOOK AT TEH SHINY SO YOU DON'T SEE HOW AWFUL IT IS. Definitely a no buy from me. Can't wait for Zero Punctuation to give his opinion on this.
You've seen around 5 minutes of actual gameplay, the rest was just walking around and cut scenes. None of that was final anyway seeing as they were using the BF3 multiplayer character models for the Russian AI. Looks good, still 20x better than COD, I just hope that grenade launcher isn't too powerful in MP. I also can't stand all the PC Elitists commenting on videos like that, it annoys the **** out of me.
Yes, Oli you do judge very quickly. And yeah it does look good, but you can't compare this to CoD, Lets not start a flame war though And with the last I agree, so much.. I can't stand it, those PC Elitists are getting, of course, thumbs up from fellow idiots, and then when they get a top comment like this : "All bow to the master PC race" (Actually have seen it) I just get angry, it is terribly annoying.
I'd buy this game purely on the merit of its graphics. 10/10, five stars, 100%, Perfect! Game of the year must buy everyone now no arguments let's go preorder GO. Also PCs are pretty good. Shoot, do I need to be the devil's advocate for everything here? Getting too worked up here over 17 minutes of beautiful footage...
Beautiful, but looks as Oli said: generic. I may get it, I do love a good shooter and Halo doesnt satisfy the same complexity that BF3/4 offers. However, like Security, I fail to see much change from BF3 to BF4. I know we didn't see much, but aside some great lighting I don't notice even a revised HUD. I'm sure it will play well, but will it warrant a new game purchase when I already have BF3? Questions, questions...
My only critique is that it's coming out so soon. I love the game but I have a feeling it's going to be too much money. Might just buy a pc for this one .. we'll see. As far as the trailer, looks great. I have no reason to judge, it's just an intro trailer.
How can we already say these things? Yes, its the campaign that looks, as you say it, generic. But what did you expect? Better Graphics? Its the HUD that gets a lot of focus, because it doesn't look all that different. Well, it is certainly too early to judge.
Why fix an already decent hud? From the looks, dual scoping is now a thing, although it looks a bit odd. There's probably some cool stuff they're not showing us at the moment. I'm treating this vid as a "look what we can do with our game engine" vid and nothing more, I expect there will be lots more shiney to come.
A good point. I'm not saying they need to massively revise it, I'm just commenting that it looks exactly like how I remember BF3, and the HUD assists that perception.
The large majority of gamers do and its best way to earn money. I haven't got a BF game yet so I might get BF4 because its newer then BF3 depending if BF4 looks fun enough so them releasing a game every year may get me to pay for full priced game instead of cheaper possibly 2nd hand (earning them little to no money) game.
IGN says its not coming out until 2014. Did you see otherwise? Cause BF3 came out in 2011 so 2014 seems like a perfect time for release. Regarding the footage, it got me so pumped! I don't see what se are saying about it being generic. Of course it's your typical story plot and gameplay style, what do you expect? ...it's a war gagames got goosebumps just from the intro and everything that followed was equally as great IMO. I didn't buy BF3, but I'm pretty certain ill be getting this game.
The BF3 menu says BF4 will release in Fall of 2013. That's the same development length of a Call of Duty game.
But cod games are the same bs every year hopefully this new game will be a new step along the path to a great game. It will never beat the hordes of retarded cod fans but it will always be better.
Call of Duty can be a lot of fun. I really enjoyed my time playing WaW and MW2. But no matter how good the game is, I don't want to continue to pay for the same experience over and over. I don't want BF4 to be a "step", I want it to be a leap, just like every other Battlefield game before it.
videogames is a business. why sit it out for a year making no money? all the people who don't buy annually, will buy it biannually - that is, if they're interested in it at all.
