Its not a problem really, it would be annoying if it had a texture from another forge map. Its new in terms of forge.
I'm withholding judgement until there's some *real* gameplay. Having the devs drive means we don't know about the palette, nor get a true sense of scale. If this has some terrain-like forge pieces, however, all will be forgiven.
I think "The Map Show" is going out on location! Maybe permanently. Impact is just feeling too cold and dark. Can't wait to see what you master forgers come up with on this one! Hit me up anytime after April 11 to be the first to have your map from FI showcased. My only request is that it's a map where we can shoot at one another. I've already hit my racetracks quota for Season 1. if i can give 343 credit for anything, they at least attempt to keep the game fresh by introducing stuff each week. i gave up on reach pretty early, so I don't remember there being this level of evolution.
Just the other day, when on the Xbox, I said to my fellow party-mates... Tch, I don't think 343 will introduce a new Forge map - they have too many other things to fix. LOL, how I was wrong. Thank you, 343, and sorry for ever doubting you. I think we should be grateful for what they have given us. I wouldn't get too nitpicky about what you want to see from this new Forge space - I've already heard comments about the islands being too high up from the water, the Forge pallet not matching well with the surroundings, etc. This is free stuff. I don't think we have much right to complain.
Well goodbye other Forge maps. I'll finish the ones I'm still working on but unless I absolutely need the environment, I'll probably maintain using this new gem ever since the day it'll be released. The best part is that this should probably be right after I'm done with my exams period. The fact that the islands are high up in the air makes me guess that we probably can't forge in the water. I already figured this. Couldn't believe nobody would show up for such an event.
For people criticizing the floor texture, I think you're looking at it the wrong way. The reason why they showed a hang em high remake was to demonstrate we have the room to completely build a map without relying on the natural terrain getting in the way. It's a creative forgers dream. Granted the palette needs to improve and we don't know yet what new pieces will be added to this to make forging floors and walls easier. Plus, in my opinion, I find a little bit grassy texture to be the most neutral of spaces that shouldn't offend anyone.
Sometimes there is just no pleasing the Halo Community.. Im not talking about us, but about a large proportion out there. They wanted flat areas, where they could forge without things getting in the way.. Voila, Forge Island. But now it is too flat. It happened alot with Halo 4, these things. They also already explained, that if they did Forge World into Halo 4, The xbox would break. People should understand that, Halo 4 itself is already pushing the xbox to its limits. Im really happy with this, they are making up for every mistake they made.
I'm happy, the pallet is clean, and those annoying edges in the forge pieces are gone The mechanics we can work around, but, wow, I was worried it would be too flat, but the textures cover it up nicely, man, I got to try this out!
Sorry SJ, that's the same 4x4 block we've already got (complete with the annoying divots along the edges).
Spoiler But seriously though... I am pumped... I dont even have the game but with all of this I still get excited. Also It would be pretty stupid of them to not make the DLC free. That way everyone can share maps on this thing.
Yeah, there's nothing different about that 4x4 block. That block sitting on top of it looks a bit different, though... One face looks like a regular 1x1 block, but the other face looks different, maybe longer.
Not just free, but the fact that it's part of a mandatory TU will mean you don't have to bug your friends to download it
