Final version released! Check the OP. I actually discussed this with FTG Insanity and had a good laugh with him about it. While the term wasn't loosely used, it was known that the beta build was anything but. However, that was the overall intention for the eventual final build. Most importantly, a term as such brings in the purists and while it may intrigue or anger, the result is a ton of useful feedback. Being "just another" doesn't net you that type of feedback, nor does it result in great things. Ironic timing though, check out the OP and you can decide for yourself.
This is unbelievable. I ain't never seen anyone put so much attention to detail into a map; and you obviously love Lockout so much that far from be offended by criticism of what has obviously taken weeks to make, you worked with others who loved it as much to create the best version you possibly could. Love and obsession share a finite space and time. This falls strictly inbetween them and I love it. Good show!
I'm sorry but there's still too many things wrong with this map for it to truly match up to the original Lockout. It has great potential to capture the original scaling of Lockout but like I said it still needs great improvement and modification. I could write out each individual issue but I'd rather go over them in person if you want to hear them.
I hope that 343 replaces the current Lockout remake (Shutout) with this one soon! The Shutout remake isn't bad, but it just doesn't feel the same on Lockout on a sunny map. I had the opportunity to play a few games on this map, and I gotta say, this remake is near flawless! Outstanding job!
This map has many gameplay flaws and inaccuracies to the original Lockout when it comes to gaps in walls, line-of-sight, and jumps. Not to mention there seems to be a drop in framerate due to z-fighting and the inclusion of lights. Using the Tower 3 Story Piece also creates an invisible wall that blocks grenades and weapon fire. Not to be rude, but this map is anything but flawless. This map is a good attempt to recreate the original scale of Lockout but because of how it was created, there are many things not included or included that will produce bad or inaccurate gameplay
It looks great, im glad folks are committed to remaking lockout, to the T...not just a general remake thats almost it but not the same. Havent played it but so far it looks way closer than Shutout.
