I just noticed that my XP level is at zero. I've been playing matches since the TU and Majestic came out, now all of a sudden, I'm not earning XP any more. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me.
It's a server issue but those xp are still being earned but right now things are just not being displayed properly. There is also a xp cap which I think is set to 150,000 per day.
My XP level was at zero because I'd completed the specialization I'd picked. I just picked a new one, now I can see my XP level. When I finish that one, I have one more left. Do you still earn XP after you unlock all of the specializations?
Nope. And your specialization title just goes away. You're stuck with 130 rank, no title, and no more xp. But you do gain the unsc bird (closely related) for an emblem which is way overused.
I have taken a stand to boycott JIP. I will from now on quit immediately and with extreme prejudice any game I enter through JIP if the score and time reasonably prevent me from what would other wise be a fair chance of winning. I decided to take this stand once I realized that JIP is a tool whose only purpose is to pass a real loser's loss onto an unsuspecting player. I don't care if I get banned. It is out of principle of fair play. I refuse to accept anyone else's losses on my records again.
Join-In-Progress Kay, have fun getting quit-banned, since 343 decided that it was important to implement a terrible JIP feature and then back it up with a quit ban for some reason. Nonetheless, your action will have zero effect on anything. I'm pretty sure a quit registers as a loss on your record, and if you are actually concerned about win-loss, you shouldn't be searching for randies all day anyways.
Never understood why they had to introduce the conflict between quit-banning and 'quit' for being kicked for betraying some punkass who thought he could harass you. So many games ruined over friendly abuse.
Ummm, I believe they introduced it about a month or two after the game's release and didn't tell anyone.
You may find this interesting. From the playlist update notes: How much of a difference it'll actually make is obviously questionable, but it's interesting that they're trying to address it.
Wasn't it meant to do that in the first place? I'm sure I remember them saying something about how the system will only place you in games where there wasn't a massive difference between the two scores. Meh, I could be wrong. Still, it's good to see that they're making an attempt at improving it. Hopefully it actually works out.
Yeah it's probably just a further narrowing of the window, hopefully enough to alleviate the issue a noticeable amount. I guess the balance has to be struck between ruling out foregone games from the JIP list, but not making the requirements so stringent as to deplete said list to an impractical degree. At this point I'd personally start wondering how possible it is to find a suitable balance, but it's a little late for questioning the JIP implementation altogether I guess. Axing that would be a huge step and I can only assume they'd have to implement a more draconian quit ban a la Reach. I'd probably prefer JIP, however lopsided it ends up, to quit banning. Skill matches are so bad in general that frankly I feel a little hard done by when told I can't quit from a game that hasn't been matched at all well in the first place.
The JIP window could definitely use tweaking, glad to hear they're doing so. Twice in recent weeks I've been JIPped (what a convenient acronym!) into a flag game where the other team had three or four captures already and was in the process of running in the fourth or last. One of them was especially funny as I didn't even have time to find an enemy player and ended the game with a score of 0. I really like JIP for games that are within the first minute of play (which is just as likely, if not more so, to be the time frame in which players quit). And for close games obviously it's useful, though I'm not always so pleased to be the guy who gets joined in to a game that's half over.
The JIP system is a good idea, but it does look like it could some adjustments. I've been dropped into too many BTB matches where the opposing team is way ahead on points and either needs one more kill to end the match, or the match is one or two minutes away from ending, which leaves me no time to do squat.
