Hey guys im just wondering the Telstra ¾G wi Fi would it be suitable for gaming?
I live in the country and we are on satellite and I can't even get 30kbps download. my ping usually sits between 2000-4000 which is extremely bad.

So I live in Australia QLD in a small area called sunnynook. don't ask where it is just to complicated to explain. I Have no idea how far im from the 3G tower but we get full bars service.
Just wondering if the 3G Telstra Wi Fi could play gaming online? Cheers

3G? Sincerely doubt it. 4G? Certainly possible. Have you run a speedtest on the cellular connection? That'll tell you for sure.

I run off 3G wifi. I'm about 5km from the mast. I get a consistent DL speed of about 6mpbs and never lag in games, and my ping never goes over 90.

So long story short, if it's the same kinda system, then you're fine. 3G is perfect for gaming.

Yeah but I have no idea where our Telstra 3g tower is for hell I could be ages away from it, and also I live in the country so it may not be as good.

I used to use an Optus 3G wireless modem for gaming before I got a landline connection, and for the most part it worked fine. I'd get the occasional bout of lag, but otherwise it would work passably enough. Not sure how far away from the tower I was, but I wouldn't get a very good connection with my phone, so I'm surprised the modem worked so well.

In all honesty, though, you'd probably be better off waiting for the NBN to roll out in your area. Could be a while, but it would save the annoyance of having to find a spot in your house where you can get reception.

NBN isn't coming our way and it never will. We can only get 3g and satellite internet, dial up service was cut 10 years ago cause they could not maintain it.

I think at this stage 3g. Is the only way. Satellite sucks ass.
Edit: also I get full service were I live, I live on a hill. So wouldn't be a problem.
