I read somewhere, probably not on here but I read somewhere that 343i is taking ideas for Halo 5 from the fanbase. I was wondering if that was true or not.

...I'm all for site pride but why should they take ideas from this site over their own forum that they set up specifically for fan input?
Well that response seemed appropriate. To be on topic As far as getting ideas for halo 5, I'm not sure if that means story, gameplay, multiplayer, forge, custom games, what? I mean things like cutom games and what the fans are actually playing are what kinda drives multiplayer/custom game changes so that is sort of based on community ideas. Story is completely in the hands of 343i and their writers and I highly doubt any fan input goes into that.
Best post ever. 343 is certainly taking ideas. As for Halo 5, I doubt they've developed much of the game, given that Halo 4 just came out and they'll be very busy. I don't think they would be looking for community ideas for the next game just yet.. but soon enough.
haha, well the kids wouldn't know. Actually I'm sure 343i already reads these forums and listens to our ideas and complaints or whatever. Waypoint is overcrowded with crap, I tried going through threads a few times there and it was annoying so I never went back. Isn't there like way too many threads of BS? So it would be much easier for 343i to find good ideas here I think, if they even exist at Waypoint, I dunno.
Waypoint has broken down into constant bickering. 343 has put a huge rift between casual and competitive gamers with all the changes they've been making. Combined with the sever lack of communication with the community, the base community for Halo is generally pissed off.
