No idea what you mean by ODST Spartans, because i haven't played Halo 4, but it does make a bit of sense considering the Spartan training programmes and their facilities are all but destroyed across the colonies, yet there will be no decrease in enlistment, so why not encourage others to take up the mantle.
Well its that in Reach just had more area and more ideas but with Halo 4, it lacks previous gametypes, which upset me. I like the new things 343 did with Halo 4, like the dynamic lightning was a good thing that they did. I just find Reach's Forge more intertaining though but again my own opinion. Well sense ODST are a higher form of Marines, that why I added them. Now if Buck was in there then hey I would be all up for it. I guess having others jump in would be a good idea, I guess I just was so in favor of having a Spartan to play as.
I did enjoy the cinematics(ignoring some weird plot points and not sure if cannon situations and a iffy script). If the only redeeming factor of spartan ops is the cinematics then 343i should stick to making anime like they did with Halo legends(which i enjoyed watching as well). But I play a game for the gameplay... and I don't think 343i understands that concept.
IF it's ok to spoiler Halo 4 Campaign: All Cutscenes - YouTube that scene with the exploding covvy chip was incredibly lack luster It came apart like it was made of legos and firecrackers :\
"Hoping we can play as Spartans again." Are you talking about elites? In 4 you ONLY play as Spartans. I have to disagree with just about everything stated in this thread however.
What i meant about the Spartan is to play as the REAL Spartans rather than enhanced marines that can run the armor. Mostly important I just hope they make Halo 5's Forge WAY much better by adding in all previous gametypes from Halo 3, Halo Reach and Halo 4 and newer ones if needed, even if they are not in MM just add them to customs.
Halo 4 Title update: Anyone that was hopeful for forge/custom games: your bubble is about to be bursted.
God ****ing dammit I almost had a ****ing hernia today playing doubles against two kids with AC. WHY THE **** IS IT AN AA? I can stand all of them, pro vision, hard light shield, jetpack, etc, but active camo makes me want to throw my xbox out my window.
haha... you know I played Big Team Infinity Slayer about a month ago and all 8 players on the opposing team were using Active Camo and DMR camping. I just quit the match as usual. I can't even stand BTB anymore unfortunately.
Camo is the one ability that I have abused to death since Reach's release. I find it less useful in Halo 4 because you become so visible from far away, and at points, your name appears over your head. Nonetheless, I wish it was a pickup that was buffed to be like the traditional camo.
As much as I like to have Active Camo with my Precision Loadout, I'm inclined to agree with it going as an AA, and it coming back as a pickup, like Damage Boost, Overshield, and Speed Boost. So that way, if you get killed, when you respawn, you lose it like the other ones. I've actually gone in and changed it out with Hologram.
JIP is probably my favorite part of this game. I probably wouldn't bother playing if there was more against just leaving games where people are abusing stuff.
Yep. Team Throwdown needs it desperately. I understand that they're attempting to make a more competitive environment, but without a quit penalty, people leaving games is way too frequent.
I think JIP is great, it greatly alleviates a real problem past games had. Yeah I gripe when I get dropped into a losing team, but in the big picture it is well worth it.
"Reduced the range of the Boltshot’s damage scaling over distance. The previous effective range for 1-hit kills was around 20-25'. The range has been reduced to 15'." Was 343 really paying attention to people's complaints about the BS or did they just figure this would satisfy everyone. The problem is not the range of the BS' charged shot, the problem is the charged shot itself. I've dealt with players carrying the BS in MM at these distances and never really saw a problem. The times I've been killed by players carrying a BS is when the fracking douche bag is camo camping around the corner of a hallway I'm heading down or at the top of a ramp.
Without a quit penalty and the fact there is JIP makes people quit without any guilt, Even if Throwdown doesn't use the JIP system because 99% of the game does means it will negatively effect it, People might not know or People might not care resulting in quits in Throwdown(and rest of the game, Might not seem like a problem in rest of the game because Quitter gets replaced but think of people who have to replace him, More quits=more joining losing team) Honestly the JIP is amazing when people quit before the game starts, But once game starts JIP should be turned off and quitters should be penalized for all gametypes.
To me the range is a big part of the problem. The boltshot frequently wins encounters between itself and CQC power weapons simply due to having a superior range, which is awful design. I might have advocated for making it no longer a 1SK weapon - make its damage closer to the mauler, which would not kill a fully-shielded person in one hit. But I never really thought they'd go that far. This is a close second though. People will still camp but if you're smart and stay away from corners, it will be harder for them to kill you instantly with it.
I'm inclined to agree. Even as far as corner camping goes, the range was a huge issue there. It allowed you to sit pretty far back from the corner and still have the range to 1SK them when they come round, meaning you're not as vulnerable to nades etc. This also meant that their reactions weren't as valuable because the huge range was very difficult to move out of even if you acted quickly when being attacked.
