Or, you could just put Halo 3 into your xbox. Anyway, Spops season 1 is over. One good thing we'll never see those maps again. Unless they throw continuity out the window again.
Sure, until you played the same ones over and over and over and they were for the most part just segments of the campaign or altered multiplayer maps.
I agree. This last season very much boosted my opinion of spops. The story was pretty good, clearly better than season 1, although the factions are completely unoriginal. The elites may as well be Klingons at this point. But the maps... Apex and Warrens are amazing imo.
I thought SpOps was pretty amazing overall. It kind of felt like Firefight with an objective to go for. I'll admit they could have done something else with the maps instead of using modified maps from the campaign and multiplayer. But still, awesome overall.
I think the maps in the second half of SpOps were better, but it was the same lackluster button-pressing objective adventure as the first half. I think they should have really thought of different ways to have players accomplish something rather than just make everything so formulaic.
Unfortunatly for them there aren't that many options in Halo for anything other than button pushing. They did try the defend this or stand there thing but that's not much different. Still have to kill everything is sight and still have to go from point b to d to a to f to etc.....
I mean, they could have probably pulled off delivering bombs or capturing cores, making it feel like you were actually fighting a war with important assets. Instead, it just seems like the story was so empty. I feel like you didn't accomplish anything or progress the story anywhere significant during gameplay, you literally just pressed buttons and came back later to press the same random buttons in the exact same places.
Don't forget easily killing the same generic enemy's over and over. But if they do a season 2 I'm not expecting much more because 343i aren't exactly the best company at doing anything creative or innovative. (I do like the Halo lore cut scenes though)
Oh yeah. The way I see 343i: good writers, good artists, bad designers. Killing generic enemies wouldn't be so bad if they presented them in different ways and made different challenges with them so you don't feel massive deja vu. Instead, they always do the same formula: have some basic Elites, Grunts, Jackals, maybe a Ghost set up in the same formation: standing in the middle of nowhere. Once you're finished with them, here comes the twist: PROMETHEANS ERMAGHERD! So you finish up fighting a few Knights after you've swept through some Watchers who spawn Crawlers. The only exception I can think of is the 1 mission (out of 50) where everyone gets a Mantis and fights off waves of Banshees.
Spoiler alert Spoiler The entire last chapter was one big power core retrieval/delivery and yet still was just a go here press that button that you already pressed before but now it does something entirely different.
spoiler (I guess) Spoiler I'm talking like physically holding and delivering an objective like you do in a multiplayer game of Assault or Invasion. There's a difference between delivering a physical objective that actually alters gameplay, and pressing buttons (aka: doing what you always do) while listening to Derp Palmer telling you that you just delivered an objective, when you really didn't do anything new.
That was a completely irrelevant comment of yours. You know it doesn't make sense at all. I was never (not even implicitly) stating that I feel Halo 3 is overall a better game than Halo 4 - although I do think so, it is irrelevant just like your comment regarding this matter is. I was just saying that nerfing most of the weapons would take us back to Halo 3 style gameplay from back in the days.
I think that was his point lol, That was 343i's way of implementing "delivering bombs or capturing cores, making it feel like you were actually fighting a war with important assets."
Why, just why? To me, honestly after Reach, Halo started to fail in MM and Forge. I know I might be complaining but seriously Im not though. I enjoyed playing as Spartans, but with Halo 4 out now and hours of playing I feel its just nothing more than a CoD game with shields and honestly whats up with that? And another thing, playing as Marine Spartans, I just enjoyed more playing as actual Spartans rather than marines. I loved ODST but they should stay ODST and Marines, rather than wanting to be Spartans. I understand that this is 343's first actual Halo game but so many things are left out that makes me want to jump back to Reach. I love Forging in Reach because it was highly enjoyable. I just hope in Halo 5 things will be alittle better and hoping that we can play as actual real Spartans once again. Sorry if this was a complain post rather than saying through my POV
You guys can say all you want, and I even agree.. But you have to admit, the cinematics are awesome. I advise to watch the last one, it has an really big twist. Don't want to spoil it though.
There's nothing wrong with a complain post, I just dont agree with your opinion. How is forging in Halo 4 highly enjoyable? Are all the new features, pieces and multiple canvas selections not to your liking?
